Tiny box room not as advertised..very disappointing

Reviewed By neil e

We stayed for two nights recently and were very, very disappointed in the room. It certainly wasn't as advertised!! On their website it shows lovely decent sized rooms with big beds and walk in showers... we got give a prison cell. No window, just a small skylight, tiny bed which we had to walk sideways to get into as the room was so small. Tripping over our suitcases as there was no room for them anywhere. The bathroom was also tiny with a pathetic electric shower which dribbled water onto your head. I didn't complain as we arrived fairly late as we had a 6 hour journey and a I had a course to attend early the next day, We then just stuck it out for the second night. The plus side was the place was very clean and the food was good and Its a beautiful location. I wouldn't put anyone off staying here but call before booking to ensure you get what one of the rooms they advertise and and not a claustrophobic broom cupboard with no window

Weekend with my boots and husband!

Reviewed By Grottie2000

What a tucked away gem! I'll keep it brief though I could go on.... We stayed for two nights B&B and the staff could not have been friendlier to accommodate us. Our room was lovely, decorated nicely and fairly spacious. My only small tweak would be the bathroom could do with a little spruce up here and there but I'm talking MINOR things, overall very clean, modern and a fabulously large bathtub!! Restaurant - A great choice on the menu. The quality of food and bar choice/detail was great, I couldn't fault it and the crisp wine went down a treat! Portions were carefully thought out, a clearly skilled effort with the food presentation and the kitchen to table service was great! In particular I really enjoyed the breakfast with handmade hash browns and a nice slice of black pudding. Oh, great coffee too!! We found nothing was too much trouble!! It's a quaint building so you expect a few quirks with age, and we loved it. It is literally steps away from Froggatt Edge and you're surrounded by beautiful views. We would definitely come back this way again.

Idyllic stay in a shepherd’s hut

Reviewed By Emma N

We stayed in one of the shepherd’s huts which was absolutely lovely. Really nicely done inside in a peaceful setting overlooking the lawns, with a cosy little wood burner too. We took our dog and it was great for him too. And very handy having the pub right on the doorstep. Fab breakfast in the morning with lots of options, to set us up for our day of walking in the Peaks!

Millstone Country Inn

Reviewed By Tour52120914323

The Millstone Country Inn is a very pleasant roadside hotel set in the ‘Hope Valley’. It’s a very large establishment that really relies on its passing trade. A very well appointed room with all the usual fittings (tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer, tv). The bathroom is well fitted out, although the shower cubicle is a touch on the small side. The dining facilities are ok, could probably do with a menu revamp, but the owner/chef has only recently taken over & is in the middle of refurbishing the complete hotel. Absolutely superb breakfast (very large portion), & a good supply of cereals/yoghurts etc. The owner & his wife cannot do enough for you & are a very pleasant couple. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, & myself and my wife would certainly come back again.
