Reviewed By foodlovers1964Visited the Cavendish Arms with my wife & Daughter for Dinner last night. Used the website to reserve a table - so easy and so convenient. Arrived on time seated promptly and politely by Olivier then we were offered menus and drinks order taken by Agness. Drinks were served swiftly. Food orderers were then taken allowing us plenty of time but not too long to chose from the great selection on offer. All courses arrived in pleasant time with no complaints at all. Clean plates all round for each course. Whole experience 10/10 and would highly recommend.

Cartmel Square is centrally located in gorgeous Cartmel village, and offers 4 beautiful newly refurbished en-suite bedrooms plus a fabulous coffee shop on the ground floor. Amazing breakfasts with locally sourced ingredients are served every morning to non residents (9-11am) plus fabulous cakes and Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding until 4pm (Monday-Saturday)

All the work that has been done on the B&B has certainly paid off, the rooms were lovely with everything we needed. Lovely breakfasts. So nice to stay on the square but at the same time it was lovely and quiet. All credit to Rachel and the team, we would definitely recommend and be back.

The room was spacious, clean with everything you need, the beds are comfy too, the breakfast was exceptional, we got more than expected all included in the price, I would highly recommend staying here it is beautiful and homely x

The hotel has well stocked bar which is open to non residents and appears to be a meeting place for local residents. Would thoroughly recommend the hotel for anyone wanting a reasonably priced stay in Cartmel.

Reviewed By griffs629My first, and possibly last Tripadvisor review. Stayed here for a couple of nights and the one and only positive I can say about the place is the view from the bedroom window! The list, in no particular order: Room too hot, old fashioned single pipe central heating system means hot water constantly running through pipes despite radiator being turned off! No housekeeping service, towels not changed, bed not made, cups not washed or tea/coffee replenished. Door to en-suite would not stay closed, embarrassingly! Our room was above the entrance to the bar and it appears that this is the smokers/bar flies meeting place therefore the smell of tobacco and other substances wafted up to us! Lack of staff, bar not attended for long periods. Restaurant area very smelly, can't describe it exactly but unpleasant. Food was bland and tasteless, when we finally managed to get some! Last but not least was the 'couldn't care less' attitude of the staff, including the management, they could not be less interested if they tried! Overall a place to be avoided at all costs!

Correspondance with both Margaret and Lynn at every stage was clear and reasuring our booking was managed professionally. A wonderful warm welcome awaits when you arrive. Lynn's hospitality is first class, she goes the extra mile to please ensuring you will not want for anything. Exquisit taste throughout the home, each suite is unique with special attention to detail. Lovely complimentary treats in room. Breakfast is amazing, a superb choice inc what I consider should be mandatory on holiday #bloodmary . For a special treat and a 5 star experience look no further. Great location to explore Lakes and many surrounding places of interest. I can highly recommend and we are looking forward to our next visit.

Perfect place to stay in South Lakes
Reviewed By LJK1145We stayed at the corner beech house for 2 nights. The room was lovely, spacious and clean. We were also lucky enough to have a room overlooking the bay. The hosts were really friendly, nothing was too much trouble including an early check in so we could get changed before going to Cartmel races. The breakfast was also great with loads of choice and really good quality products. There is also free parking and it’s only a short 10kg a walk to the centre of Grange. Would highly recommend staying here and we will definitely return. Thank you Karen and Peter.
