A Rare Find

We stayed for three days, and everyone was perfect. The room was clean and bright with the appropriate facilities. Very sufficient supplies of tea and coffee, milk etc in the room. I did like the strategically placed additional tea bag caddy which catered for you if you fancied something different like and Earl Grey or Assam. The food both at breakfast and dinner was so tasty and well cooked. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and made the stay so much better. We will stay again.

great hotel

Reviewed By paul v

We stayed 5th June 2022 for one night as a group of 12 senior golfers. The hotel was clean, bright and had a great atmosphere. The staff led by Courtney were very professional and always had a great big smile on their faces. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast had a large choice and the food was fresh, tasty, hot and plentiful. The bar had a good verity of beers, gins, spirits and wines. We can not recommend this hotel highly enough and we can not wait to return in July! Thank you.

The Grove

A wonderful family holiday

Reviewed By teresadU9920WM

My family all stayed in 3 cottages and a yurt for 4 nights over the jubilee weekend. The Grove has a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and is perfect for young children. The garden is beautiful and great for children. I stayed in the Cottage which does seem a bit dark and could do with a ‘face lift’ We enjoyed the Sundown which is great for the family and the restaurant ( for adults) where the food was excellent. The children’s playground could be better but overall we had a wonderful stay and have booked again next year. Many thanks to all the staff!

Shocking customer service

Shocking customer service. Defensive attitude with no understanding or empathy for the situation. Could have handled the same issue with kindness and rationale, with some potential alternative solutions, but instead was aggressive and rude. Don’t bother.

Lovely meal almost perfect

Reviewed By Sightseer827417

Popped in for a meal this lunchtime as we have really enjoyed the food on previous occasions. My wife ordered Butter and Thyme Roasted Norfolk Chicken Breast and I had Duo of Swannington Pork. Both dishes arrived in reasonable time and were very well presented. Overall we enjoyed the meal but I was confused by the ‘crackling’ which was white, tasted of nothing and had the texture of polystyrene. It was the only thing that remained on my plate at the end. If one of the staff had asked if everything was ok, which they usually do, we would have said “excellent part from the crackling”, but as they didn’t we left it unsaid. We are now regretting that we did not ask for an explanation. We will be back again but would suggest care in the selection of some ingredients.

Over priced and Under Delivered

Reviewed By S9983HGbarrys

Came to the Globe for an evening meal while on holiday having been on previous occasions prior to the restaurant being refurbished. Meal was over priced for the small sized portions with the menu over selling an average meal. The steak salad was little more than a few leaves while two of our party also thought their chicken was under cooked and left their dishes. No one wanted to stay for a desert. Staff were polite but thin on the ground so not really attentive. On top of the expensive meals a 10% service charge was added which was a joke. Sorry Globe, but we will not be visiting you again for dinning.

Very good small local hotel

Reviewed By Martin C

Stayed here for 3 nights. Small comfortable friendly hotel. My room was well equipped and bed and pillows comfortable. My room overlooked the road and there was a fair amount of traffic noise. Didn’t bother me but if you are sensitive to noise ask for room overlooking car park. Excellent breakfast all served at table. Excellent location within easy walk of main attractions and (very handy) has own car park. Would certainly stay again.
