Very welcoming and comfortable, just a couple of minutes from the centre of the city, and a great breakfast too. There is some fascinating music memorabilia in the public rooms and looks like a fine place for a party, though I was saying on a quiet Sunday night.

Normally stay in the big hotels when travelling for work but location made me choose here. Find myself asking why I use the big hotels when this is half the price. A big hotel has a bar (but you can't drink if driving). This hotel has a fully appointed guest kitchen - if you don't fancy a restaurant meal (and let's face it we all get sick of them when travelling) you can pop to the shop & make your own! What a great idea! Excellent, large and comfortable triple room. Well appointed, clean and comfortable with private bathroom. This B&B feels really homely except it puts my own house to shame in every respect I can think of. Really loved the family photos on the stairs and in the hallway - made it feel like a home but you didn't feel like you were intruding in someone else's house. Breakfast was great - wide range of options and a very pleasant dining area. All food cooked to order and the quality of ingredients was fantastic. Only thing that was missing was a desk to work at if you needed. Could have used the kitchen table....or cleared a surface in the "lobby" of my room (room 1) but wouldn't have been ideal. Otherwise this property had everything you need. If ever back in (London)Derry will definitely be trying to book again. Well done Arkle House!

Lovely home away from home in a brilliant location

I don't think there's any hotel or B&B in Derry with a better location than this. It's right at the heart of the walled city, and close to many of the key sites, restaurants, and shopping. The house is itself charmingly decorated and the rooms are very clean. Kieran is an excellent and warm host. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Excellent Stopover

I had occasion to stop overnight at this very pleasant B&B last week, returning from a work trip to Donegal. Access was easy, with door codes being provided via email for the main and bedroom doors, Not as pleasant as the personal experience of meeting a host face-to-face but understandable under current circumstances and undoubtedly safer and very efficient. Definitely recommended.

This is a great B&B run by John and Margret who really made us feel welcome and at home. The B&B was perfec it has great views over the City and Lough foyle and it is a short taxi ride to where we needed to go and to be honest if we had stayed in the city we would of got a taxi to where we needed to go anyway. We where in Derry to see a music concert for my dad's 85th birthday and where delighted when some of the musicians of the show where at the table next to us for breakfast , so we had great craic about the show the night before. We contacted directly and got a discount so we avoided all the .come comission. Highly recommended. Thanks Margaret and John for a very memorable trip. The Mc Keegans

Tired but good location

Reviewed By sidstone

We booked here for one night at the last minute following a change of plans. The street on which the inn is located is not particularly promising. Fairly shabby and a busy road. Welcome was perfectly pleasant. Parking is available at a public car park nearby and is 50p per hour during working hours. It was quiet but on returning to the car the following morning, we discovered a huge pile of human excrement that a reveller from the previous evening had left behind the car. I won't share a photo! The inn was also fairly shabby and could really do with some TLC. Our room was large and at the front of the property so we faced the full blast from the road. Double glazing kept a lot of the noise out, but it was fairly noisy so choose a room at the back if this is a problem for you. Beds were comfortable and clean and bathroom was functional but again quite basic. Breakfast was fine. I has the full Irish breakfast and it was quickly served. Location is pretty good. You are very close to the river and a five minute walk across the bridge takes you to the centre of the City. We paid £89 for the night and that included breakfast. We were also advised by locals that the pub next door was not very welcoming so gave it a miss. Overall I wouldn't personally stay there again as it was a little too shabby for me to enjoy it but if you just wanted a well located place with parking and a decent bed, it would be OK. We also have to accept the challenges that lockdown has placed on small businesses so I can understand that it is not easy or cheap to keep places in tip top condition

This B&B is centrally located and a short easy walk to the Walled City. The bed is comfortable and there are clean sheets and towels. The rooms are small and the bathroom is cramped. Taking suitcases up steep narrow stairs is a challenge. The tarriff is moderate and I guess reflects the accommodation. A basic cooked breakfast was included along with free Wifi.

Very bad experience

Reviewed By Ayelet S

very clean and looks nice, served with water and snacks We had terrible experience - in the middle of the night some guys above us had arguments which include fighting, shouting and throwing stuff at each other Because of the thin walls we could hear everything which prevent us from sleeping all night. There was nobody from the staff we could turn to. In some point the argument was so load that we called the police because we afraid that something bed would happen. When we wrote that on booking.com the respond was very disrespecting . We don’t recommend on this place, the environment doesn’t worth it at all.
