Great Overnight Stay

Reviewed By Jill W

Stayed one night on our way to west Wales, but would definitely stay again. Really clean and comfy room, with nice en-suite. We were overlooking the beer garden and over the bar. It is a working bar and restaurant, so we expected some noise, but there was nothing excessive, just the normal rumble of voices, and to be honest I had the best nights sleep I have had in a long time! We ate in the pub the evening of our stay, and the food was lovely - no complaints at all. Breakfast (which was included in our room cost) was also excellent and plentiful. There was a large wedding party staying in most (all) of the other rooms, and sometimes the service was a tiny bit slow, but nothing that detracted from our stay

Just been back to The Down Inn again for a two night break and received a warm welcome. We cannot fault the place; The rooms are comfortable, fresh and clean. The breakfasts are splendid with top quality food and cooked to perfection. The evening meals are always first class here; as are the puddings! Everyone is so friendly and accomodating. We've been staying here for years (as it's so handy for Bridgnorth and the Severn Valley Railway) and never been disappointed.

This is such a lovely b&b. The owners are friendly, attentive and couldn’t do enough for you from the beginning to the end of our visit. The room we stayed it was beautiful, clean and a lovely roll top bath. The mattress was so comfortable and I enjoyed a lovely nights sleep. Breakfast was lovely. We had vegetarians in our party and they were catered for. The bar/restaurant is fantastically decorated. The conservatory where we ate breakfast had beautiful views. I will definitely be returning and cannot recommend them enough.

Warm and welcoming

We were only staying one night in Bridgenorth and booked Stoneway Guesthouse after reading previous reviews. What a gem of a place it is. Views of the funicular railway add something special, you can’t help but wave… Our room ( double en-suite ) was spacious and comfortable which enabled a good nights sleep. Hosts Andy & Maria were warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and answered all the questions we could throw at them about Bridgenorth, a place we will certainly be coming back to as we did not have time to explore fully. Breakfast was lovely, set us up for the day. All in all a great little guesthouse in an interesting town, topped off with great hospitality. Would I return ? Absolutely.
