Littlehaven Beach

Reviewed By Dr_Waugh - Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom

Littlehaven beach is a lovely sheltered beach, it’s within the river mouth/estuary defences and the south tyne pier provides protection. There’s a hotel to the north and a small bright red lighthouse on a small pier called Herd Groyne. You can stand on this to watch ships passage into and out of the river. The beach itself is a nice crescent of sand with a car park behind. There’s also a minchella’s at the southern end of the car park for beverages and ice creams. We often come here to eat fish and chips and take in the view.

We consider ourselves extremely lucky to live near such a lovely coastline and Indeed being able to walk here during lockdown kept us sane. We are particular fans of the coast around seaham - Whether you visit noses’s point, vane tempest or seaham hall the scenery is stunning! We also love to look for sea glass too Have travelled the world and would struggle to name a more beautiful coastline Unlike other coastal areas parking is free too and the beaches are rarely crowded.

Seaton Sluice Beach

Reviewed By ryanw15041992 - Barnsley, United Kingdom

Really nice scenic beach to walk along. Free car park can be found about half down the road. Dog friendly. Scenic harbour with a few nice pubs at then end for a well earned drink. Could easily spend a few hours on this beach. Worth a visit.
