Casa de las Tradiciones

Do not miss this place! Total heaven for music lovers. Small and intimate with different live bands starting at about 21:00. The place is a little out of the centre, but it makes for a very atmospheric walk there and back (even though the back- streets are dark and have lots of people hanging around they are completely safe: we walked to the venue and back on 3 consecutive nights and felt no threat whatsoever - quite the opposite- we loved It!). You have to pay 2 CUC to get in but it's really worth it, with good drinks service from friendly staff. The atmosphere was so wonderful with a good mixture of a few tourists and plenty of locals. If you want to dance, just do it! There are local male and female dancers to accompany you if you are by yourself or your partner is shy! This place was a highlight of our tour.

They say that there is no musician in Cuba that did not play here. There is matinee at 6 PM and evening show at 9 PM. I've been both. Crazy place. Fantastic music and everybody dancing. I Could go there every evening. Right in the center of Santiago.

Its a bit of a trek from the town centre so wear comfortable practical shoes. We went early (approx 11.30pm / midnight) before it got too busy and filled with smoke. Amazing place. Definitely worth checking out.

Lots of music and dancing on the cheap. I think we paid 1 CUC entrance Then bought a beer. live band with singers to which the audience danced. Made we wish I had stuck with my earlier Salsa dance lesson and learned the basic steps as many were just dancing those steps. then there were dance demonstrations by professionals = fantastic. Then solo male singer who was excellent. It started at 9 pm and was increasing in attendance when we left about 11 pm. A very nice night of local entertainment led by our Daiquiri Tours USA tour guide, Anabel. Great suggestion for our only night in Vinales. See pictures.

We spend two great evenings here. This is the perfect place to listen Cuban music and dance salsa. Mohito and Cuba Libre can make your evening complete.

Club Mejunje

Reviewed By Clachangirl - Skipton, United Kingdom

Our tour guide Dianaleis recommended we come to El Mejunje after our dinner to enjoy this vibrant place. I said to her - are you sure? We are a fifty/sixty something straight couple- won’t we look out of place? She said ‘not at all’ and she was right. We didn’t want to wait for the show at 10pm so came round to the bar area. Pulled up 2 chairs and drank great Cuba Libre’s at the bar. The club was opened I believe in 1984 and it’s the LGBT place in Santa Clara. Staff made us so welcome. It was a great place to sit and people watch with great music playing in the background. There’s an entrance fee to go see the nightly show (which is understandable) and it’s free to go in the other side where there is a bar and seating. If you are in Santa Clara just go! It’s not far from the main square and it’s a great atmosphere.

Cabaret Continental

Cabaret & night club

We were looking for a cabaret show to go to but didn't feel like spending 4 hours on the road to Havana. This is right in Varadero. Only 10 minutes from our resort. The show was fabulous. Wow! Those costumes are absoutely stunning! There is singing which is also amazing. They greet you with a flute of champagne and there is a free drink of rum and coke. Unlike the Havana Tropicana show they do not charge for you to use your own camera to take pictures. This truly was a gem to find in Varadero. It's 40 pesos for just the show. The show it's self is a blend of the old Cuba and the new. It was very well put together. I plan on going again next year.
