Along with the newly established The Belper Tap, The Angels Micropub is your best option by far in Belper for a pint of craft ale or cider. It is a hidden gem indeed, tugged into the far corner of Market Place - you have to be very close to the northern east corner to actually see it's there. It has a narrow patio area with a few outside tables, and the single room in the pub holds only about 30 people. The range of carefully selected real ales (directly from the cask) is excellent, as is the one for craft cider. And they're only 3 quid a pint, no matter how high the ABV is. I had three excellent pints there: two beers (Titanic Plum Porter, Plummeth Grand Cru) and a flavorful cask-matured cider (Thistly Cross Whisky Cask). The young woman who was running things on the day was extremely friendly and welcoming, herself an enthusiast for real ale and cider. The atmosphere is very friendly, and you can always strike up a conversation with a fellow punter. Note: The Angels is open only between Thursday and Sunday! Cannot recommend this super place enough: Keep up the good work!

Found this place on trip advisor and wasn't disappointed. Doesn't look much from the outside but great little bar and nice decor. Cocktails were great and at 241 you cant beat it for value. Watch out as a few cocktails aren't on the 241 such as the espresso martini. Was busy on the Saturday night during happy hours 5 to 7. Also runs 241 all day Sunday

Pump It Up Micro Pub

What a brilliant visit this was. Decided to do a few pubs with a couple a mates around Belper town centre and we found this miniature bar located right in the heart of Belper. This place is tiny and the term micro-pub is well backed up by this place. Barely big enough to fit 15 people in, if you get in the door you will not be disappointed at all. A fantastic atmosphere and a selection of fantastic craft brewed beers. I enjoyed a lovely full bodied stout which had a very satisfying taste. The barman was very friendly and helpful and was kind enough to off tasters before buying. As a fan of Micropubs in general I can honestly say that this is one of best I have visited in the UK. Can’t wait to return!

We love the independent shops and sense of community in Belper. This shop is perfect for people who want to experience a diverse selection of unique beers. Stephen was so knowledged and passionate about what they sell. He has clearly researched their field with so much care. My partner was really excited by the range of beers on offer, and treated himself to some for Christmas. What I really found refreshing was Stephen’s commitment to supporting independent suppliers. There were some interesting vegan recommendations. I can imagine, outside of covid restrictions that this beautifully light and cheery shop would be a lovely place to relax and chat . Brilliant . Clearly a loved place ( a couple of regulars came , very respectful of social distance), and cultivated with love.

My partner and I have visited this pub on several occasions and have always had a great time. The staff and locals are all friendly and the atmosphere is fun. The beers are all well kept and not overpriced. The pub has live music on most weekends. All in all a great pub well worth a visit.
