Chandragiri Hill, seven kilometres from Thankot, lies on the South-West of Kathmandu Valley and is 2551 metres from sea level. This hill is connected with both Buddhist and Hindu religions. It is connected with the unification of Nepal by King Prithvi Narayan Shah as it is the historic trade route passing through Kulekhani, Chitlang, Chandragiri Pass, Thankot and inside kathmandu . The Bhaleshore Mahadev temple of Lord Shiva is on top of the hill.  The top of the hill provides scenic views of soaring peaks from different mountain ranges like Annapurna, Everest, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Jugal, Rolwaling, and Numbur of the Himalayan range of eastern Nepal and breathe taking views of whole Kathmandu Valley. Covered with lush green blanket of flora, Chandragiri is truly a great bountiful and pristine landscape. Kirtipur, located on a hill to the southwest of central Kathmandu is one of several ancient kingdoms in the Kathmandu Valley that were once independent, but now make up part of greater Kathmandu. Kirtipur is thought to be one of the oldest settlements in the valley. It’s a prime destination to learn about the Newar people, who are one of Nepal’s many distinct ethnic groups and the original inhabitants of the Kathmandu Valley. Come to Kirtipur for exquisite architecture, hilltop temples, and sweeping city views. Wandering around its winding streets feels like walking through a traditional Nepali village, yet Kirtipur offers some of the finest views of sprawling Kathmandu and the hills and mountains beyond. It’s full of cobblestone streets, old brick houses with elaborately carved door and window frames, and multitiered pagodas. Many travelers don’t visit Kirtipur as part of Kathmandu trip, yet it’s worth visiting.

I have just returned from Annapurna Base Camp trek with Eve Holidays and I love the experience. Everything went smooth and their service was perfect. Food was great and accommodation was fine considering the fact that it was in remote mountains. Views in the Annapurna trek was wonderful with magical mountains, small villages and tea house lodges and Nepalese rural lifestyle. My guide and porter were very caring and they made sure all the time that i am safe and enjoying my trek. I would extremely recommend Eve Holidays as I found it beyond my expectation and it is operated by a single mom who employs women so that she can help them. I appreciate the small step taken by her towards helping other women like herself.

Sherpa settlements, and soaring mountains was no doubt an amazing experience. Flying to Lukla was a thrilling experience. The walk was tough but rewarding every day. I dreamed to be at the Base of Mt. Everest. My suggestion to local Management committee is to provide good lodging facility to porters. I feel I touched the sky at Kalapatthar. Thanks to the helpful guide Layu for his friendly manner and all the support all the time. Thanks to the Operator Oriental Journeys for fantastic management.
