The Hotel is located in Capo Vaticano Ricadi on Viale Giuseppe Berto, very close to Tropea (8 km - 9 minutes by car). The nearest town to the hotel is San Nicolo of Ricadi which is about 750 metres away - about 10 minutes on foot. The railway station of Ricadi is 900 metres away and is 12 minutes on foot. By train you can get to North way: Tropea (8 minutes), Pizzo Calabro (25 minutes), and other beautiful places along the coast. South way: Coccoriono (5 minutes), Nicotera (10 minutes), Scilla (45 minutes), Reggio Calabria (60 minutes) and other places. Throughout the day there is a shuttle bus service which connects our hotel with nearby Tropea and others places to see. This bus service runs to a fixed timetable. It can be easily reached by car as it near the road which goes from Tropea to Vibo Valentia and is about 30 kilometres from the latter. It can be easily reached by train as the nearest Ricadi station is only 0,950 metres away. The Lamezia Terme international airport is 60 kilometres from our hotel, Reggio Calabria airport is 120 kilometres from our hotel. The nearest beach is "Torre Ruffa" (it is a sandy beach) and is 950 metres away; Here the water gets deep gradually. Our guests also have a beach shuttle service at their disposal to go to "Grotticelle" (Objectively the most beautiful in the all Calabria, gradual depth and with fine white sand). This service runs from the morning and continues throughout the day following a flexible timetable to cover the whole day (Every hour go/back). Grotticelle is only three minutes away by shuttle; At the beach you can take advantage of many services (at prices of the Convention) to name a few: the excursion along the coast (from Capo Vaticano, untill after Tropea with several stops in the most beautiful spots to make the bathing or snorkeling (equipment included), eat fresh fish with drink on board, excursion to the fabulous beaches of Capo Vaticano and many other activities and water sports. Our hotel offers you special beach service rates (not obligatory as the beach is not private one): 1 beach umbrella and sun loungers for € 9,00 per room, per day (2 peoples). It is possible to make a lump-sum payment. Price is exclusively reserved to our customers. Particular attention is devoted to the cleaning of the rooms, every other part of the hotel and to the guest. This is "three star superior" hotel, far 0,500 mts from the centre of the village of San Nicolo of Ricadi. The hotel offer an efficient shuttle bus service from/to the best destinations that must be visited. The hotel is very renowned for its delicious cuisine. We were guests in the italian TV SHOW "Domenica del Villaggio" on Channel 5, "Vecchia fattoria"on Rai 1, We have been reported on the main guides of the sector and on the italian daily newspaper "Repubblica", and we have also prepared the best products of our local gastronomic for some Italian actor of TV series "Gente di Mare" at the port of Tropea. The menu' of our Restaurant changes every day, both lunch and dinner. The pre-cooked food does not exist here, we cook all at the moment. Once a week they organize tastings of Calabrian typical products: "Calabria evening", a multi-course buffet feast during which the best regional specialties are served with popular music, songs and dances.

Nice location with beach close by (200m and shuttle service). We just had a wonderful vacantion at hotel Incoronato!

Quiet mediocre resort
Reviewed By JoanM7200Spent 1 week at Cala di Volpe with my family and it was ok. Nothing special. It’s advertised as a 4 star resort but there’s very little that makes this a 4 star resort. I’d give it 3 stars on a good day. The accommodations were very basic. There was only 1 dining table which was outside and nothing inside. TVs we’re only present in the bedrooms and they had a very limited channel lineup. AC worked really good. The beach was nothing like I was expecting. Yes it’s clean and the water is amazing but there’s rocks everywhere and it’s virtually impossible to enjoy the water unless you buy water shoes…even then it’s easy to injure yourself. Most other beaches in the area have less rocks. Pool area was nice but the cap requirement in the pool is ridiculous and utterly useless. The jacuzzi isn’t hot and the jets are very weak. Pool closes at 7pm each night which is also quite dumb for a beach resort. Activities at the resort are nil unless you’re a little kid and they have some activities for kids. Nothing to really do at the resort. Restaurant quality is ok but prices are very high especially for the area. Easily 40-50% higher than most restaurants outside the resort. The resort was ok but for the amount of money they charge you can find much better.

Reviewed By reobertodPoor service. We spend one and a half months getting the refund, and when we call them and asked them when we will get the refund, they were making fun of us. The deal was a free cancellation, so I would appreciate it that you give the frame when the payment is made as a hotel.

Nice apartments/rooms, a restaurant by the sea with very nice food, the best choices for breakfast we had during our round trip, a well-kept flower/garden zone, a private beach, an open air fitness center and a very kind receptionist who, among other things, organized our parking at our next stop in Matera. Yes, it was expensive, but it was well worth it.

Beautiful Hotel
Reviewed By christine mJust returned from a week at this beautiful hotel...although in a quiet location there were local buses or you can use the shuttle service provided by the hotel as we did...although this does incur a cost. We could not fault the hotel at all....beautiful surroundings/views....spotlessly clean....great food and fantastic pool. Very helpful and friendly staff who attended to our every need....we were the only English people in the hotel and so plenty of chance to practice our Italian...although Alessandro did speak fluent English which was a great help. Thank you to all of the staff for looking after us so well and making our stay a happy memorable occasion...a huge thank you to Vincenzo for getting us safely to and from the airport and for ferrying us around....A special greeting to him from the Coco Chanel lady.

Not worth it

We were really struggling to find the positives, but the ones that we picked are: - The hotel is located in beautiful capo vaticano and the views are breathtaking; - The receptionist is a very nice guy, always polite and ready to help; - The room was cleaned and tidied every single day. BUT there were so many negatives.. - Firstly, there was an insane humidity in our room as the room in itself had only one tiny window. Even the bedsheets felt wet and the towels and the room had a smell. We asked to change the room, however it was 150€ extra; - Secondly, there is a hidden fee for - the beach towels, transportation to the beach and the lounge chairs as well as the umbrella on the beach. The so called bus takes you to the beach only three times a day - at 9.30am, at 10am and at 1pm so if you don’t get onto one of those you can find yourself walking down a slippery path down the hill because a four star hotel doesn’t have a normal path to its private beach. Nonetheless, you have to take the towels in the reception and bring them down yourself and then bring them back up again.. Moreover, a four star hotel doesn’t have a toilet on the beach. Thus, the shower is not working properly on the beach; - Thirdly, when we booked the room, it didn’t say that the booking is full board. So apparently breakfast, lunch and dinner were included into the price. But let me tell you this - what a huge disappointment the food was!! We managed to find at least something to eat during breakfast (the coffee from the coffee machine was horrendous), but the dinner was something worth forgetting and the sooner, the better. We would have much rather had an option to choose half board and pay less, than have an unnecessary full board which we never used. - Fourthly, we were supposed to stay there for 5 nights, but ended up checking out after 3. To our disappointment, nobody seemed to care why we have decided to leave and check out earlier, nobody seemed to be bothered to ask what was wrong. All in all, this hotel deserves max 3 stars. The quality doesn’t match the price and it’s definitely not worth the money you are paying.

Reviewed By italy123456782This is a lovely hotel with great service. We were very happy with the room, food, and service. Simone and Barbara were wonderful people who were very helpful with every request. The restaurant servers were very nice; pool and bar nice, and the beach was fantastic. Sandy beaches with great fish to see why snorkeling right off the beach area. Restaurants and bars on the beach area and the hotel drives the guests to and from the beach in a golf cart upon request all day. Just a very peaceful place to stay. Upon leaving, they provide a nice gift of jams as a thank you for staying at their hotel. I would go back for sure. It is off the beaten track so, it is quiet and lovely.

Reviewed By damjantgmCompletely average hotel, definitely overrated in comparison with hotels in neighbourhood. Clean. Garden view can mean anything. Good kitchen, poor breakfast. Limited availability of umbrellas and chairs on the beach. If it is a crowdy day or your last day, you have to find and pay umbrella& beds on some other beach even if it is already included in your price.

This was my worst travel nightmare!
Reviewed By Mirolina11We were not given the rooms from vouchers, but some rooms for the staff. The food is artificial overdosed from sugar for breakfast. There is no fresh fruit or vegetable. Coffee is horrible. Rooms are dirty everywhere you look, bed sheets 100 years old and washed out, bathroom floor is filthy, there are stains on walls. The hotel staff is very aggressive and if you would complain they start behave as mafia, they even shout at guest or would not give you voucher for internet. This is the place which should be really closed down for good.
