Vacation of a Lifetime!

Reviewed By Tarheel_Jen

This was the most amazing trip we have ever taken as a family...part of it was the incredible beauty of Costs Rica + its people and the other part was due to our time at Tulemar. We came with our kids, son (14) and daughter (11), it was their first time. My husband and I had been to La Fortuna before, but it was our first time in Manuel Antonio....and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! We balanced our time between a few excursions and a few days of relaxation at Tulemar. We worked with Alex, our concierge, prior to arriving in order o get things planned out and booked. He was extremely helpful and friendly, it was great to have him on hand as a resource. We arrived on a Saturday and the "boys" went fishing Sunday on the offshore, 3/4 day tour. They slayed wahoo and mahi...we had more fish than we could handle. But, not to worry, we had a private chef come Monday night and they used some of it and TuleCafe used some and cooked it for us as well. Tuesday we went on the full day waterfall tour with Waterfalls Heaven (Pawel was our guide - AMAZING!). This was the highlight of our trip, we did a private tour where we jumped off cliffs, over waterfalls and swam in the middle of the rainforest. It was a perfect day, filled with adrenaline and memories we will never forget. Wednesday we relaxed at the resort and private beach. We took in some wildlife and that night we took a Nigh Jungle Tour. It was not nearly as good as we expected, but that's the way it goes sometimes. Thursday was our day for zip lining...we went with El Santuario Canopy Adventure and they did a fantastic job. There were 10 lines and one was almost a mile long! We all enjoyed the thrill of zipping through the treetops of the Costa Rican rainforest. Finally, Friday was a relax day, we were able to get our COVID tests in our casa, which were needed for a return to the US. The trip went amazingly, absolutely perfect...everything from the weather to the tour guides and of course, the staff at Tulemar (Alex, the drivers: Harry + David and the private chef: Marlon). Thanks to all and we will definitely be back again!!!!

Amazing Tropical/Jungle Getaway

Reviewed By P-PnSD90

This place was quite the trip to get to but once we arrived it was so worth it! Remote, quiet, close walk to town.. We stayed in a Dome on the beach which was amazing!! The pool was very refreshing from the humidity. The jungle wildlife was awesome, all the monkeys were soo cute! We were there for a friends wedding and the group of about 50 basically took over the place. The staff was incredible so attentive and helpful, they remember your names and what rooms your in, the food was outstanding and the all around vibe was the best! I would recommend this resort to anyone, and we thank them again for making our time the absolute best!!

Bosque del Cabo Rainforest Lodge

Bosque del Cabo is a romantic getaway and a naturalist’s dream, come true. Crowning a point 500 feet above where the Golfo Dulce meets the Pacific Ocean, nestled in the unspoiled jungles of Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula is a paradise found. Located in a unique and fortunate position at the very tip of the Osa Peninsula in the southern Pacific region of Costa Rica, this 750+ acre forest reserve features private, spacious bungalows and gorgeous houses perched atop the cliffs of Cabo Matapalo, each with beautiful ocean views, tropical breezes and the rainforest at your doorstep; or choose beautiful and rustic garden view accommodations surrounded by thriving rainforests. Hiking trails lead you through the forest to deserted beaches on both the Golfo Dulce and Pacific Ocean. Bosque del Cabo, which opened its doors as a hotel in 1990, is owner operated and dedicated to forest preservation.

Perfect combination of nature and luxury

Reviewed By Ridders04

We recently spent a week at Bosque del Cabo and we stayed at Casa Miramar. If you are looking for a place that feels like you are sleeping in the rainforest (in a comfy bed with mosquito netting) but also want amazing food, drinks, activities and service - this is the place for you. The staff is incredible - everyone called us by our first names all week, took the time to get to know us, helped us with our very basic spanish, and seemed to anticipate when we needed something. We didn't eat a bad meal all week and looked forward to "popcorn happy-hour" every night. Please note that this is a place to enjoy nature and you have to like the outdoors if you come here. Our house was open to the outside - so we had animal noises throughout the night and small critters in our rooms - but the netting on the beds kept things out while we slept and we didn't have any issues with any animals/bugs. But you have to be OK with a bat flying around the room when you duck into your bed!! The wildlife is incredible - we saw over 60 animals we had never seen anywhere else including a puma that wandered thru our backyard, two tapirs in Corcovado NP, and we could sit on our back deck each morning and afternoon and see an in person wildlife show to rival anything on Nat Geo! We would highly recommend the night walk with Carlos and the zip-lining and tree climb on the grounds as well. If you love nature but want an element of luxury too, this is the place for you.

Needs improvement

Reviewed By travelbob1

First time visiting for two days. The room was sufficient but had a musty air, not uncomfortable but noticeable. Looked forward to getting out to the beach. waited for the shuttle advertised running every 30 minutes (nothing specific for that stop) from 8-5. Waited, waited...asked staff ( had trouble communicating) who called and assured just 10 minutes...waited 45minutes. Same when looking to return. At NO TIME where we told the shuttle was only available upon request, contrary to the signs saying they run continuously.Called reception later and was told no buses are running as described with just an apology. Still no correction was made to the signs. I understand we are in a foreign country that is proud of their culture and language, but if you wish to attract English speaking guests more staff need to be dual language speakers or know how to find one. Overall the grounds look a bit in need of attention. The white beach tables and benches were covered in the morning with puddles of water and looked worn. There was no one who spoke English to answer questions. Some helpful guests provided translation.
