Reviewed By Lizziewhizzie40We stayed here for a week and the end of a full sightseeing tour of Italy as we wanted a place to relax in complete peace and quiet. We got it here??. Unfortunately due to the current pandemic the hotel was not fully open so there was no bar or restaurant on site but that did not detract from what we wanted from our stay as Vito our host was on hand with bottles of beer, water and snacks and will recommend and take you to various different restaurants throughout your stay. He will also order you a takeaway to have either in the restaurant area or on your terrace. He even cooked for us when the takeaway we chose was closed due to a family bereavement. Recommended sights to see while you are on Ischia are the castle, gardens of mortella, forio and posidon beach (where vito runs a shuttle to every day) The rooms are spacious and simple and the pool small and cold which is a perfect compliment to the numerous amount of sunbeds located all round the rest of the hotel which is a complete sun trap. I do have to say that due to its location it is designed as a relaxing simple hotel for adults who wish to relax and is not geared towards children although families are welcome. All in all a great stay.

The views are stunning and the hourly shuttle bus to the centre of Sorento is great as the taxis are expensive. Very easy to visit Pompei by train and would advise fast track tickets sold just outside the station. We pre booked ferry tickets to Capri but in May we would have been ok to turn up at the port. A fantastic week at a fabulous hotel.

Reviewed By danadZ3147OEI stayed here for a week to do the "relax package" and it was definitely not relaxing. Firstly, what it says on the site is included in the package was misleading. It is a face mask and a foot rub for 30 minutes, no total "massage" or "face/body consultation". My room was fine, but not what you expect from a 4-star hotel. My shower had rust in it, there were cracks in the walls, and the rooms are very loud (you can hear everything). Much of the staff was helpful and very nice, which I appreciated. But overall this was a very disappointing experience. I would only recommend staying here if you find a VERY good deal.

Reviewed By 440lizziemWe are 4 days into our 7 day stay at the Mar hotel - yes, it’s marketed as a 4 star hotel but I would say more a 3 purely because it just needs a few finishing touches. We have room 408 on the reception level which is a basic room with traditional Italian design. It is clean, functional and the maids tend to it daily (we did say this wasn’t necessary but they insisted). There is a fridge so we walked to the local supermarket and bought our own water which was a lot cheaper. The bed is firm which is to my taste but my wife likes a slightly softer bed. I think a mattress topper would be a cheap and easy way to upgrade the bed for the rest of the season if they wanted to improve this. The hotel itself is beautiful, meticulously cleaned every day by the very attentive staff on shift. The reception staff are really helpful and assisted us to book a trip to Amalfi/Positano and Ravello with a private company which was a lot cheaper than the TUI rep tried to sell us. The leaflet for this including lunch is on the hotel reception for those interested. The food is lovely, I honestly cannot understand the negative reviews for food. We are both vegetarian and booked half-board. When there is limited options we just ask the waiters/waitress who will put together some lovely food for us which was a nice touch. The meals are very fresh, it isn’t Michelin star but very tasty and good restaurant quality. Breakfast is a buffet with a lot of sweet and savoury options including cooked and chilled. It is a nice selection and again if you fancy something specific the staff go out of their way to try to get it for you. It can feel a bit canteen-like but I think with a few tweaks it would meet the 4 star label. The pool is cleaned at least daily and there are two first aid trained lifeguards by the pool/beach between around 08:00 and 18:00. The hotel offers a clean towel per guest daily and free sun beds on the private beach. The beach is stone instead of sand so I would recommend sturdy shoes. The sea is clean (not one piece of litter spotted the whole time we have been here so far) and a beautiful turquoise colour. We took the hotel shuttle bus to Sorrento which took about 15-20 minutes, we booked return from the reception and it was prompt. It goes to and from Sorrento about 5/6 times a day and is really helpful to get you in and out. There are several little beachside restaurants and cafe’s along the front if you go exploring. Not sure how the other reviewers couldn’t find them as they are quite obvious if you take a stroll. Overall - a great little hotel with some lovely touches and wonderful staff. A few things listed above stopping it being 4 star in my opinion, however the quirks really make the place great and we love it. Would recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful and relaxing holiday, come and enjoy the sound of the sea lapping the shore and the quiet Italian lifestyle. Thank you to Sergio and the team who made the place excellent, I will keep trying to learn to speak Italian - I clearly need the lessons!

The staff is friendly and if you ask they allowed you to relax in the jacuzzi even late in the evening or night under the stars. Is the perfect place to relax with great people who take care of you as if you were one of their family members. They serve REAL house wine, because they have a winery with their own vineyards. Such a special place! Can’t wait to go back!

Reviewed By bertha aI stayed 2 nights in Hotel Mary in May 2022. When i booked the hotel i was expecting a laid-back, by the beach, with stunning panorama landscape around the hotel. Hotel Mary really delivered the expectation! Even better because the staff are all very welcoming and helpful. When i first arrived using train from the airport I was a bit lost in the train station as there is no taxi and i was too tired to drag my luggage to hotel after a long journey. I called reception to pick us up in the Vico Equense train station and they came within like 15minutes. I was very grateful for such express service ! Especially when it was a last-minute request in such a busy traveling month for them. The shuttle is always available for your service, they can pick you up or send you to airport, train station or to their beach club. The restaurant is amazing, it hasa breath-taking sunset view from the terrasse! we literally waited for the sunrise and did not regret it. Food is awesome, the seafood and the bread. The room looks newly renovated and very clean each time. We got the sea view from the room, and it was amazing, plus the infinity pool completed the whole package. I really recommend this hotel for amazing stay in South Napoli. I had initial plan to stay at Amalfi as it was more popular but i think i would prefer to stay in Vico Equense and come back to this Hotel as it is so beautiful and peaceful at the same time, with everything is in close proximity like the restaurants, shops and beaches.

Reviewed By cbemdI picked this island and area because it was smaller and catered to more locals (Italian tourists), and it was a fantastic choice. Hotel overlooks the town, beautiful view. Pools were great, not too busy, always plenty of chairs. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms are smaller than hotels in North America, but who cares I'm not there to hang out in room and it was clean, nice big shower and my twin bed was comfortable. Main dining room was pricey but bar offered choices for lunch and snacks.

Reviewed By alice_aliseStayed for 3 nights in August 2021. Initially chosen this hotel after reading about its "four pools" even when the location is not ideal, difficult to get around without car. Was very disappointed when saw in reality it is a ONE pool with 3 very small plunge pools. I guess they used a wide lenses when making photos to make it look bigger than it is. The pool looks very run down with yellow stains. One of the days had to complain that the pool is all covered in leaves so impossible to use. Nothing was done about it. I am not sure why the description says it is a brand new hotel - it is far from it and very dated. Breakfast choice was very poor, just boiled eggs, thickly cut ham and not very appetisingly looking cheese. Had to stop with a egg. The receptionist was very polite, offered little discount on the check out due to our complains.

The food here was very good and the garden terrace at lunchtime was just brilliant. Nicely positioned for great views over the bay of Naples and Vesuvius. Night time cocktails rounded off great days. Sad to leave but will remember fondly. Great job Blue atlantic team.

Reviewed By Elaine BCurrently staying at Sorriso Therme in a room in the off site accommodation. It is excellent and we have a massive balcony from which we can see the main hotel and pool area. The breakfast has a great selection of continental and hot food on offer buffet style. All the staff are very helpful and speak English very well. The dinner is 4 courses which you pre order at breakfast time so dinner service is quick and efficient. We used the spa and had the spa area to ourselves which was excellent and made us feel very safe from the threat of Covid. You can hire wonderful toweling gowns for use around the pool and spa. Covid precautions are adhered to but it doesn’t spoil our enjoyment in fact it makes you feel very comfortable and safe. The bus stop is right outside the hotel and you can travel all around the island very easily I have to say reading some of the earlier reviews I can’t understand the complaints people made because our experience had been excellent
