Croatia makes quite a splash. With Grade 3 and 4 rafting and kayaking available on rivers that gush through lush forest, and sea kayaking on the coast, it's the perfect place to paddle. For a different pace, dive into the Adriatic's graveyard of vessels, clamber limestone cliffs or sail between 1200 islands.

Enjoyable stay

Great hotel overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Positives: - Breakfast great, good selection of food and beverages. Nice atmosphere with live music, wonderful outside terrace with amazing views. - Lobby area, very nicely decorated and again live music throughout the evening. - Modern and clean room. - Good location, probably a 20 minute walk to the old town (although not the the best paths if you have a pram / wheelchair would be impossible). - Nice food at beach restaurant and room service which we used a few times was good. - Friendly welcome with drinks and a tour of the hotel with reception staff. Negatives: - Balcony area in room could do with a refresh and glass needed to be cleaned. Had to ask for loungers on balcony, would be nice if they were there as a standard. - Lifts are a bit annoying / need reprogramming as don’t give you enough time to get in and out before the doors close on you. - Not a great selection of wine (although this we found was the same in most places in Dubrovnik) Overall, would I recommend to a friend - yes.

Could do better...!

The other comments are spot on - in most respects it is a superb hotel, in an amazing location, which is well designed to take full advantage of the panoramic views, generally very good food and attentive staff etc. It is certainly one of the best hotels in Dubrovnik, but it could be one of the best in Croatia, but is let down in some basic areas. It has some natural advantages, Croatians are a friendly, relaxed, people and virtually all speak fluent English. But perhaps too relaxed? The lifts were a farce during our stay - unreliable, barely working 50% of the time and a real pain and clearly the problem was not being managed and communication was abysmal. Also the evening entertainment was often a little lacking - this was exacerbated by a complete absence of any English TV channels, or other facility at the hotel. It is surprising that whilst English is the accepted common language in the hotel this is not vaguely represented. There are 200 or so TV channels on every language in the world on the TV on their system, except English! There was the ubiquitous "Sky News" but this had an irritatingly bad connection which allegedly could not be fixed. But these were minor flaws and it is a fabulous hotel, with a particularly lovely breakfast with bespoke stations providing eggs, omelettes, as required and best of all fruit (marvellous display and service). Service was generally, very good and particular thanks to Vestna who runs the beautiful indoor pool, steam, sauna, foot spa etc, and whose considerable expertise, made our visits to the facility really special.

Normally I write a review at the end of our holiday but I honestly can't rate this hotel and its staff high enough. We arrived 2 and bit hours later than anticipated due to flight delays , the reception staff could not have been more friendly, welcoming and helpful. We were lucky and got upgraded to a superior double room with sea view and was left a snack to eat along with a room that had all high quality amenities including a stocked fridge with a range of drinks , a variety of different teas and coffees with a kettle, super king size bed, bathroom fully equipped with quality towels , flannels shampoo, soap, conditioner even a hairdryer. The hotel literally has everything you can think of including the most friendly, helpful staff from those at reception, tui staff , shop staff bar and restaurant staff . And the chef well , you'd think you was in a top restaurant , even though the food is a buffet style it is the best food I've ever had with a huge variety of anything you could imagine and the taste and quality is out of this world you won't want to stop eating. I can't recommend this hotel enough not just because it has everything but the staff are literally top class and will stop and have a friendly chat with you every time you see them . So welcoming. 1000% recommend this hotel and will definitely definitely go back again

4*hotel in 5* setting

There is a lot that is good about this hotel but it starts and finishes with the view. It's incredible and is maximised in the way the hotel is layed out. The rooms are a good size and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It's a short walk into the town and also to the local gravel beaches. The pool and spa areas are comfortable and have reasonable access hours. There are quite a few niggles though. The pillows are hideously uncomfortable-change them on the first night if you can-my husband can sleep anywhere and even he struggled. The rooms are spacious and have a small balcony which I am sure give good views when the green, planted roofs are maintained properly. There are directors chairs and a bench seat instead of anything comfortable, which really does not give a 5* vibe. Some nights you are given biscuits, some nights you are not. Service seems hit and miss throughout. The bath is not suitable for anyone shorter than 6ft tall but the bathroom is styled nicely and big enough. Breakfast is nice and varied but some of the freshly cooked items were not of a high quality. The pancakes were rubbery and the bacon is in fact a pork chop (could be a translation issue?). The public toilets on the whole were clean except for the ones right next to the dining room which were awful. We ate one evening in the hotel and I have to say this was a disappointment. We had far better quality and value food in the local town. It is possible that they are short staffed due to Covid and this may cause the lack of top notch service expected from a hotel of this nature. The view is it's saving grace-it's perfect. In fact the view is the only thing that was 5*star about this hotel. It's a shame as we were treating ourselves to an expensive break and it wasn't worth the money.

Three star hotel room - not very well equipped and not much room. Hairdryer defective and dangerous. Gloomy, grubby feel to the place. The restaurant buffet offering is reminiscent of the worst offered by a low quality 1970s Benidorm hotel. Reasonable variety but much of the food is inedible being cold, poorly presented and 'mushed about' by other guests. We are here on half board but will be eating out in local restaurants rather than accepting what is on offer.

Just returned from this beautiful hotel in pula with my 2 sisters, on arrival e had a warm welcome and our suitcases were taken to our room and was invited to go into dining room for breakfast , though out our stay every single one of the staff were so friendly always pleasent and helpful. The only downside was no entertainment we were told the reason was they couldn't have entertainment while they had conferences there. On our last evening there was music & singers. The area is very quiet not much around but very scenic and traquil. There is a bus that goes into pula Town about 15 mins ride. Lovely for a relaxing holiday.

A Spotlessly Clean and Comfortable Hotel with Friendly and Helpful Staff

We were so looking forward to our first beach holiday since 2019, and we were delighted to find that the hotel staff (and the local community) were just as keen to see the tourists return. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable, and the food was prepared with obvious pride. Our room (511) had been described as having a "partial sea view" but the only minor restriction in the view was hardly noticeable. We had excellent views out over the sea and to the islands of Brac and Hvar. The hotel is located midway between the villages of Brela and Basco Voda, both orf which can be accessed by a footpath running beside the beach. Both villages have a range of decent bars and eateries, and we were pleased that we opted just for a B&B arrangement at the hotel. This is a lovely hotel.

Great service - lovely hotel

Booked our holiday before March 20 and had to move it 4 times. So glad we did as Croatia is beautiful! This hotel surpassed our expectations and we had a wonderful stay! Staff friendly and helpful, hotel exceptionally clean, decor nice and room modern with a pool/sea view. Food is good, plenty of choice, breakfast was our favourite meal of the day. As with all buffets the food does get a little bit repetitive. There were plenty if sunbeds and hotel quiet but believe this was due to time of year. There was also entertainment and activities but because not quiet height if season this was low key. The hotel is beach side, beach is small and pebbles/rocky. The nearest shops are about 15 minute walk away in the old town. All in all loved our stay! Thank you to all the staff at the hotel for all their hard work. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing, sunny holiday ?.
