Portaria seemed like a nice village. The taxi driver recommended this place. We took a taxi from volos for 17 euros.
The restaurant was in the main plaza of the village. It had a nice fire place and felt really wintery. We thought it was expensive compared to other restaurants in the area. The food was really heavy on our stomachs because it was extremely oil. As a result we had a hard time sleeping at night. The ambience of the restaurant though was just right.

Tsagarada Hotel Aleka's House, has a restaurant which has received certification for the traditional Greek cuisine. It is open daily from 12 at noon till 11 at night and provides great traditional dishes with local products and local production of raki. It has a cellar with a great selection of wines for every taste and flavor. We are waiting for you in one of the top Tsagarada hotels and we are open every day during the year here in Tsagarada of Pelion.
We were in Tsagarada for two weeks and we ate nine times at Aleka restaurant. Honest food, more than enough, tasty, for normal prices. Nice Terrace, good friendly service. Starter and bread for free. If you don't order desert you get fruit for free too.
Recomended.

We are veggies and had lots of choices, several salads and dips and all was very tasty with a lick that we did not feel at dinners all over the north and center of Greece for the last week
The zucchini patties hat a nice touch of anis,
The green pepper in the salat as from their garden and was very mild. The Tziziki was generous with garlic an i liked it and so was the Eggplant dish that was grilled thin slices of it seasoned above and a sprinkle of cheese.
The fried cheese with sesame in cucumber(?) oil with honey was GREAT.
The service was very good, the waiteras very rapid in his move and looking at clients to see if he was needed.
The oner came in as we were in the middle of dinner and introduced herself, and it felt tyat she cared of the other dinning table near us
The place is small , saw the sunset as we had a glass of(the owner's) home made wine.

Maybe it was the end of the season.... It started well with homemade dips and bread and a delicious fig and blue cheese salad but the main courses were disappointing and felt pre cooked and heated up rather than fresh. Only one dessert offered but nice fruit platter. Lovely setting and good service

One of the superior eateries in the greater Volos area. Very pleasant during the summer, with huge trees offering generous shade (we visited in August). The freshness of the ingredients was obvious. They smoke their own pork steaks, recommended. Very relaxed atmosphere, lots of room for the children to run around, if you visit for lunch on a weekday (as we did).

We got a recommendation for this restaurant from a local person, and we went there.
the prices are pretty high and the food is average. it was nice, but didn't leave a good impression on us. In the end the waiter put a watermelon on the table and didn't ask if we want it, and also charged us for it. The service wasn't that good and the people that smoking outside are just smoking on you.

While we were at pilion with my wife We visited this restaurant twice in five days !
We fully recommend the place because of their great seafood which was very well cooked and the originality of the Mediterranean taste was Simple , original and delicious! They have their own fresh fish so you have to ask .
Will definitely go again !

A basic Greek taverna on the seafront, offering tarditional Greek cuisine, with excellent fresh sea food (Memebers of the family are fishermen). Service is friendly, and Effi speaks excellent English. The tables outside are on the sea-front. Inside the taverna has a family atmosphere, which might not to be to everyone's liking if they want a quiet meal.

A small fair and gorgious place to taste real Greek homemade delicacies..try the kleftiko , the zucchini fried balls and don't miss the lamb chops...fair prizes, big portions, dessert made from local fruits complete the scene while the stunning balcony view makes you calm and feel most welcome...
