The service was very friendly and the property is nicely put together. There is plenty of parking around the back of the restaurant. There is a lot of choice and it is not expensive. The pizza was nice enough but it was a bit overcooked and difficult to cut through(although tasty).

We reserved a table for dinner on a Saturday evening and specifically asked if they had fresh Porcini mushrooms; the answer was positive. We arrived at 20:00, asked the waiter for the fresh Porcini and we were told that we were “lucky” as they just got a Delivery but that we had to wait 10 minutes as they had to clean it and get it ready for the evening mise en place. We decided whilst waiting for the Porcini to order a pizza Siciliana, and a Rosso di Verzella red wine, which was very good; cannot say the same about the Siciliana as it turned out to be too oily. Finally ordered some starters, fresh Porcini salad (fantastic), Porcini Pastellati and Polpettine di Porcini that were of a good quality and taste. As soon as we finished the starters we decided to order the main courses and since the fresh Porcini salad was excellent we wanted two more as side dishes, the waiter informed us that unfortunately they had already finished the fresh Porcini and suggested us some pasta dishes with pre-cooked Porcini; ordered tagliatelle, lasagna and a portion of (medium-rare) chargrilled lamb. The lasagna wasn’t bad, the tagliatelle were just boiled and had some mushrooms on it (tasteless) and the meat was overcooked. The desserts were scarce; in fact we just had some pineapple. The service is very slow and inattentive; the place is mediocre and lacks of appeal. As we were about to leave, the staff that was standing near us didn’t even bothered to say “thank you and good bye”.

We stopped here returning from mount Etna. I enjoyed some very nice ice cream. My wife selected various pastries, and immediately fell in love with this place. And she's a real pastry addict and expert! We are only in the region for a couple of days, but we'll try to come back...

This restaurant offers great food (espcially the antipasti rustico are very worthwile) at reasoneable prices. Personell is friendly. There are tables inside and outside on the piazza of the village. Great choice if you are looking for a restaurant in Zafferana!

This is an elegant restaurant in an out of the way place. We only found it as part of a tour. Everything was locally made and very good with excellent service. We had bruschetta with a delightful tomato based topping, breaded veal and pasta with tomatoes and eggplant and ground beef. This was very good food and we figured pretty safe as we spoke limited Italian. A nice local red wine was chosen for us and for dessert we enjoyed rich ice cream. There are not too many great food options this close to Mount Etna. Definitely eat here. As a bonus the views of the nearby countryside are spectacular.

If you stay in Santa venerina you need to make this pasticceria your morning stop. We went every morning for freshly made brioche, croissants and bread.
The staff were incredibly friendly and they loved my two year son and always gave him sweets because he was a character, which was a lovely touch. Can't wait to go back next year!

This restaurant has beautiful views and garden. It has excellent food. We had the mixed fish grill together with vegetables and chips. We had no room for dessert we were so full. Price is reasonable. Excellent for families with children too as outside there is a play area.

The antipasti are humongous here (relative to the price!), and featured a caponata made with local honey (!!!), wonderful local cheeses, and much more. The pasta dish we ordered was a little on the salty side--but this may be common to Sicilian tastes. The Siciliana (deep-fried calzone-like thing) with anchovies was absolutely WONDERFUL, but too big to finish after so much antipasti!
The house wine was just so-so, but the service we received from Ivan was impeccable! He spoke very good English, and was thoroughly attentive--immediately bringing me a replacement knife (after the antipasto) without my even having to ask! He made an otherwise okay dinner into an excellent dining experience!!

We went to Zafferana the weekend of the Sagra di Fungi (mushroom festival). I was looking forward to eating porcini mushrooms and was told that this was a very good restaurant. We ordered the traditional fried pizza calzone with porcini mushrooms and Veal steak with porcini mushrooms. How disappointed were we to be served frozen catering style porcini mushrooms. They were cubed and slimey in texture. Come on! This was porcini season and there was no excuse for the chef not to purchase fresh porcini mushrooms like the other restaurants. The only nice thing to say is that the waiting staff were really professional and nice.
