Salads, wraps, BBQ, and of course, CARROT CAKE!

Cozy little sandwich shop with a nice selection of quiche, sandwiches, soup and salad. Tried the biscuit with Turkey and it was delicious. The ham and cheese was also delicious. Highly recommend those biscuits! The coffee was weak but I must admit to being a coffee snob. All in all, this is a delightful place to stop for a quick bite.

Tony and Milena's is probably the best Italian restaurant I've eaten in since returning from Europe. It's original well prepared and served Italian food. My go to is the Veal Scallopini. It's a family owned and run business with personal and friendly service. This has become our favorite restaurant in Gloucester.

I recently moved to the area, and one of the first things I learned about from locals was Sunrise Donuts. I tried it, and I have to say it was really good. I even got cupcakes for my sons birthday from them. I am very happy with my service and will definitely be back!

Emily's Donuts & Cafe

Reviewed By Hooked_on_travel77 - Mts of western NC

We must have hit this place on a bad day because the ratings are unfathomable. The cake donuts were inedible due to being overcooked and greasy. Even the donut holes were the same for most of the flavors, except the raised ones which were certainly good, especially the cinnamon sugar. This positive, along with friendly service, brings up the experience to two stars instead of one, which the cake donuts deserved. Unfortunate. ** Also do not park near the dumpster. Yellow jackets everywhere this early part of October. Park near the door entrance.

Not a fancy place, but the BBQ is out of this world. I had the pulled pork, fried okra, and fried pickles sides. The baked beans were the only thing that was so so. Everything else was amazing. I will definitely go back again.

Yorktown Pub

I have eaten here at least 3 or 4 times during my previous visits to Yorktown VA. It's a very unassuming restaurant with great service and solid food. We were able to get a seat here for lunch on New Year's eve without any difficulty. On our last visit my husband had a burger and I had the lobster roll. Both were great choices. The french fries were perfect. We had a high top table for two with a nice view of Yorktown Beach. I highly recommend stopping here when in the area.

This is a good idea but to me a bit pricy. They charge by the ounce. After choosing your cup size you pick the flavor or flavors of frozen yogurt and then your toppings which are abundant. Just remember you are paying by the ounce and don't be surprised when they ring you up for eight dollars for six ounces of yogurt and toppings.

York River Oyster Company

Reviewed By Gamma70 - Virginia Beach, VA

We were using the marina and decided to have dinner. Glad we did. Two things stuck out: (1) She Crab Soup -- not the standard Virginia fare. More hearty and very, very tasty. Just a different approach but remarkable. (2) Tune Tower. Have heard this called a Napoleon but appears to be a series of goodness into a soup can size, open at both end container and then placed on the plate. Fresh was the name of the game. The tuna in substantial portion and fresh, crab perfect, some tomato for a little tart, avacado... the hits just keep coming. Served as an appetizer but could be a delicious meal. Only downer was the service (Sunday night may not have been the A-Team but clearly new to the game) and the wine menu -- very limited.

Our server Lauren took excellent care of us throughout our lunch today and she was the highlight of our visit. The restaurant boasts a beautiful view of the York River. The quality of the lobster ravioli was very good and the fish and chips were ok, but the fish tacos were poor. The tacos contained minimal fish, slaw that was not tasty, and used stale tortillas. There is no lunch menu so be prepared to pay high-end dinner prices at lunchtime.
