Xemxija (Maltese: Ix-Xemxija, pronounced shem-shee-ya) is a suburb on the western part of St. Paul's Bay in the Northern Region, Malta. It is a quiet resort, surrounded by Maltese countryside and some of the most fertile valleys in Malta. There is also a picturesque small fishing harbour. The resort is the gateway to the sandy beaches of Golden Bay and to Mellieħa Bay. There are a number of hotels and restaurants in Xemxija.

Visited this cosy restaurant on the 13thFebruary. The atmosphere was splendid with a few patrons enjoying a quiet meal. We enjoyed a carpaccio of seabass and a surf-and-turf starter. The taste was exquisite. Then we continued to indulge ourselves in the second course, where we selected a selection of lamb and a plate of Arborio rice with cheese respectively. Again their taste was wonderful.
A nice bottle of local wine accompanied the food nicely. Service was courteous and timely. Well done to the lads working there, though we did notice the lack of female staff.
Overall this was an enjoyable dinner which we savoured!

We read the reviews on trip advisor and gave bouquet grain a try on our first night in Malta Tuesday evening not too busy to start but popular by end of evening, duck and vegetables beautifully cooked and I had red snapper lovely fish. Would recommend the mussels looked lush steaming hot and plentiful. Thank you for a lovely meal, polite staff and the touches of bread and dips etc at the beginning and limoncello at the end gratis a nice touch, best pavlova I’ve tasted too.

This is a delightful restaurant to dine at. I visited this restaurant with my husband for dinner. We tried the three course meal which was only €25. You have a choice of 3 for starter, a choice of 3 for main and a choice of 3 for dessert. The food was delicious. They obviously have a very talented chef and the wait staff were very professional, welcoming and attentive. The evening was pleasurable and we will certainly be back.

The Gelato here was amazing. No need to worry if you have allergies this wonderful little shop had gelato made from lots of alternatives. rice milk, sugar free to name just two. They tasted incredible both the full fat etc varieties and the free from flavours. If you like ice cream you have to try Gelato WoW!!! See for yourself the amazing flavours and the beautiful texture of Gelato. Go on have a treat you will not be disappointed.

We went there with family and friends and was really satisfied.
It is a very small restaurant with a warm cosy atmosphere. There was only another table dining with us and we also made friends with them.
Food was excellent.
We had the Maltese platter , rabbit ravioli with the best rabbit sauce I ever tasted and
For main we had Rabbit cooked in wine and garlic... all was very good.
It's sort of a one man show... Bertu is the waiter / barman/ chef and coped with everything perfectly
We will be back again.

Xemxija Bay is located between Mellieha and St Paul's Bay; a busy main road runs through the pretty harbour full of small boats in the warmer months. The area is currently experiencing buidling work, there are a few restaurants, shops and some holiday accomodation.
Munchy Monkey's cafe offers outside only dining; diners enjoy beautiful views of the harbour opposite; the road does run directly infront of the cafe but do not feel that this affects the experience. Free parking is in the large adjacant bay with the Xemkija's "Pit Stop" cafe / kiosk.
This was our second visit to Munchy Monkey's, we had previously used their take away service for pizza and pasta last summer, delicious, the family loved it. We were travelling home from Rabat on the first night of Mellieha Feast Fireworks, no chance of a Delivery guys getting through to Mellieha so we ordered a chicken bbq pizza and stopped at Munchy Monkey to collect on our way past. Wow!.... biggest pizza I have ever seen and only 12 euros.
Would definitely recommend.

We have been living in Mellieha for almost two years and tried this place out since we love Chinese food.
We were so pleasantly surprised of how wonderful the food, service and restaurant was. We will be back for sure!!!
We got a variety of different food and it was all great!

During our stay in Malta we've been here several times. It was a pleasure!
Excellent food. The steaks were tasty, the salads very good, even the paste
with fruits de mer and Parmesan cheese delicious. They serve Lamb with
a terrifically well mint sauce; you have to try this. Good house wine and
everything at moderate prices. Our waitress Angie was very friendly and
accurate, Great cooks in the kitchen and the host Rose was helpful. We
warmly recommend this restaurant. You will not be disappointed. We surely
be back here!! Monday closed. Only Sunday open from 12.00 - 15.00h and
from 19.00 - 22.30h. Tuesday-Friday from 19.00 - 22.30h.

Came here via high TripAdvisor rating, but unfortunately would not visit this place again as the noise from the highway was disturbing and service poor (slow, impersonal). Coffee was great, but the cakes happened to be too sweet. Somehow things didn't go well on this day!

When we are in the nord area of Malta we always go to have here the ice cream, seared and take away boxes. The flavour of 'strawberry cheese cake' it's amazing!we also raccomand 'brioche al gelato'(wow!!!). Prices very good! Staff is pleasant, they have place to seat inside and outside and toilets. Highly recommended!
