Nice dinner on excellent patio right on the Wausau River Walk. Food was a little hit and miss. My Ruben was decent size, but a little plain. My wife had a very good cheeseburger. Same kind of mix with other friends meals. Very good beer menu. All in all service was pretty good. Waitstaff was friendly, but did made some mistakes on the bills, which they quickly cleared up. They also had no problem letting us sit and talk after we were all done with dinner, not a hint of trying to rush us out.The patio sits right next to the River Walk path. It is very large, with a number of tables and a sitting area by a gas fire feature. The River is not particularly scenic at this point, but the overall experience is really pleasant. Inside the restaurant is a different experience. The dinning area if what you would expect in a large bar, but be warned there are a number of very loud arcade games near the front entrance. NOTHING wrong with this, and a great draw for kids, but it does make the bar noisier. Again, itâs part of the experience, and completely fine, but if you think your going to come for a quiet drink or dinner you will not be happy. We will certainly come back.

This is a great place with great food and drinks. Everyone is friendly from welcome to exit. The place is well lit and clean and open enough that you donât feel crowded. A great place to watch the Packers on many large tvâs.

We stopped here when we were exploring Wausau's downtown area. It is situated very nicely in the busy and vibrant downtown area. It would be perfectly suited for dining when the downtown concerts are held. We requested outdoor seating on the day we were there. It is a perfect place to people watch. The food is well done. Everything we had was very good. We ordered a Turkey Club sandwich with potato salad and an Philly Cheesesteak with fries. Top notch offerings down to the fries. The drinks too were very good. Atmosphere and service again well above average. Atmosphere actually would get a 5 star rating from us. It is well done inside and dining on the sidewalk in this beautiful downtown setting is enjoyable. The young lady serving us cared and it showed. She was attentive but not over bearing. We actually had another server engage us in conversation as well. Fun people to be around..Overall this is a solid dining establishment. It does everything well (food especially). We enjoyed our time here and can easily recommend a stop at this place.

We went here for dinner on the recommendation of the Innkeeper at the B & B where we were staying. The food was so good - my husband had the maple glazed pork chop and I had tenderloin medallions. Both entrees were perfectly prepared and the roasted vegetable and mashed potato side dishes were also fantastic. The restaurant is a bit off the beaten path and has kind of an industrial vibe to it - very cool.

Great atmosphere! Came out to enjoy live music on a Friday night and loved how people were so into it â it made for a really fun vibe! We were greeted at our table in the bar area within a minute of sitting down; service was fast and friendly throughout. Just ordered fries and drinks and both were tasty. We are definitely planning to come back to eat a full meal and check out the patio.

The City Grill is where you can get a good steak but don't need to dress up to eat it. Housed in the beautiful downtown Wausau, it's a revolving door of locals seeking fine dining in a trendy atmosphere decorated in local art. The City Grill hosts live mu
Came here on a Saturday afternoon. Started out at the bar for a couple of drinks and the bruschetta. This is the best bruschetta we've ever had. Finally made it to the dining room after hanging out at the bar. Logan, our server, greeted us promptly and was a good server throughout the meal. They have really good brewed iced tea here and Logan refilled my drink before I had to ask. I had the Saturday night prime rib special with mushrooms and mashed potatoes. The meal was good. My sister had the scallops and risotto and she liked her meal, too. It also came with a good bread and unique bread spread. We had the house salad as well which was good. Would definitely come back.

The service is extremely friendly and helpful. The recommendations were spot on. Due to the proximity of the Marriott (next door) I dined here two days in a row. It was delicious both meals. Of course we sampled the cheese curds pursuant to Wisconsin law. I normally am a meat & spud guy but had a Cobb salad. It was good and huge. The following day I had a garbage burger---not the name (it had everything on it) and it was very good. Good experience all the way around.

The theme of this restaurant made you feel like you were really inside of a coal mine. There are sections that you go through like tunnels leading to another room for dining. Very clever approach to making customers feel in a completely new environment. It truly reminded me of being on vacation in pigeon forge Tennessee. The exterior of building was also made to look like a coal mine entrance, including large decor of a tual rusty mining equipment. I had the chicken garlic parmesan sandwich at the suggestion of my very friendly server, and now I see why it is his favorite item on the menu. Onion rings were awesome too. Wish this place was closer to home as it feels like a bar/restaurant that I would visit frequently. Artisan food & craft beer. We feature our daily chef's menu to compliment our full menu that sources local farms and seasonal ingredients.
Stopped in this weekend with my wife and were very impressed with all of their food options. Their shrimp skewers were delicious and the turkey club wrap was perfect. Also got a flight of beer, which was great. I couldn't identify a flagship beer, but all of their various types were fairly good.
