The white Lion is a country pub and restaurant with traditional home cooked dishes. We have a lovely beer garden. Great Quiz night on a Tuesday. And a large selection of real ales.

Have been to the White Lion on numerous occasions in the past and been thoroughly satisfied with both the standard of food, and the extremely helpful and pleasant staff. We have usually ate in the really nice and traditional bar area. On this occasion however, as it was extremely busy, we ate in the restaurant area. The food and service was up to its usual high standards. The issue we had, was with the overhead lighting strips, which appeared to have been the left over remnants of the previous Christmas decorations. They were literally an inch deep in dust, with huge trailing cobwebs dangling down. Although the restaurant area is low level lighting to create a warm and relaxed ambience, it was an anxious eating environment, constantly looking upwards wondering if cobwebs and dust were about to cascade downwards towards the food being consumed. As a potential food hygeine issue, relating to management cleaning standards, we have not returned to eat since. It's a pity, but you have to feel comfortable in your surroundings when going out to dine in any establishment.

Staff here are very welcoming and helpful! Two of us had the steak and it was lovely ! The others had chicken wrapped in Ham , the calamari was amazing , very good prices and offers on midweek too!

Two of us ate here early evening. The lamb rogan was probably the best I have ever tasted. The service was efficient and attentive. Will definitely eat here again .

Everything is cooked from scratch in The Coven kitchen - we all all the ingredients in our food so we can guarantee the quality. Make sure you book for this place at busy time as as there are only 6 tables but it is well worth it whether you are a vegetarian, vegan or not. We love Rivaj and my husband said that he would take me for Valentine's Day. Even though it was really busy, we still received great service, especially from Amin, who is always polite and friendly, along with the owner. All our food was delicious and I loved the valet gifts which were a lovely surprise.

So it's that time of year again. Birthday meal at India lounge. As always the atmosphere is amazing, staff are very warm and welcoming even remembering our faces each time we come in. Food is exceptional as always and we were greeted as family.
I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for amazing food and authentic Indian!

This was amazing little find in Wigan and we will certainly be back!
What a wonderful little restaurant that we were delighted to enjoy this past Saturday, they managed to fit us in as a last minute booking and what a lovely experience we enjoyed here in this family run gem of a place. The drinks selection was great, the food menu even better! We had such flavoursome starters, followed by some mind blowing mains, and sweet treats to complete this highly memorable experience.
Amy, daughter of the chef, is a wonderful waitress who is friendly and very polite, a real asset to the Red Door Bistro. I didn't get to meet the chef, but I would one day like to meet Mrs Red Door Bistro and thank her for her amazing cooking!
Overall, I can't fault this little treat of Wigan. If business doesn't take me back to Wigan then I will be there just to dine again in Red Door Bistro.

We recently visited the Olive Garden as a family for a birthday celebration and had the most wonderful evening. From the very first smile as we walked through to the door all the way to when we left, the staff were very attentive and enthusiastic. Our food was simply superb and everyone had such a good time that we will be back for more!

Ate here mid February with my family for my birthday. Its local to us so we were able to walk there.
We were given a rather small table for the three of us but whilst it looked small it was ok, once all the glassware we didnt need was removed. Good job we didnt all order pizza though.
The food was excellent and any concerns that the table was way too small vanished I'm glad to say.
The staff were very good but the manageress looked pretty unhappy most of the time. she'd put me off going back I'm sad to say. Hopefully she can cheer up a bit before our next visit.
