A local recommended this place to us so we decided to give it a try. It was tasty though quite pricey, compared to other places we'd tried with similar fare. It's small but cozy and clean. The staff were very helpful & friendly.

this is the best name for a donut shop i have ever heard. "donut depot" slides off the tongue really nicely.

i suggest the creamy dream, or the ooey gooey mess if you're adventurous(and don't forget the mango!)

my taste buds were thanking me after a visit here. i will come back again and again and again and again and again.

Inn At Whittier

Reviewed By edbishop55 - Hancock, Massachusetts

We were staying at the Inn and didn't want to go out into the rain so we decided to eat at the Inn. We wanted a table with a window so we could watch the cruise boat leave. The receptionist at the restaurant was mean. Not just rude, down right mean and told us we were not going to be able to sit at one of the open tables near the window. We went to the bar that shares the kitchen where the bartender was very pleasant and let us sit at the window. We had a great meal while we watched the cruise boat leave. We even took desert to eat in our room.

waitress was very welcoming and attentive.i ordered the fish and chips, which was very pricey at $ 23.60 for 4 small pieces plus fries .there was no savor about the fish .it was just like you were just eating the batter .it was pretty bland and the fries ,that was the worst fries ive ever tasted ,and i travel globally .just consumed 5 of them ,out of hunger ! i was delighted by the clam chowder ,which was sumptuous.i just couldnt believed the price for the fish and chips, especially for its bland taste . i eat fish all the time and i could tell that it was not that fresh !

China Sea Restaurant

As someone with food allergies and sensitivities, I highly recommend China Sea as the best place to eat in Whittier. It's one of my favorites in the state! I always get a pound of side stripe shrimp. It's fresh, right-out-of-the-water fresh! And they serve it just how I like it- steamed to perfection. My dining mates have always enjoyed their meals as well. It's run by the nicest family- always a warm welcome and friendly, fast service. The view is wonderful- right next to the boat harbor so you can watch boats coming and going. Love it here!

Anchor Inn

A lifesaver - just the typical small town diner / bar for an Alaskan town of 300 people. Friendly service, decent diner food, and a nice place for a warm cup of coffee when it's 2 degrees out. I can only imagine how much fun the bar is on a Friday or Saturday night in the winter

Needed to get a cup of coffee when early for the ferry to Valdez. Orca was the most attractive offering and the coffee was barrista made and a great cup. Also bakery items which were delicious. Lost of jewellry to see i the gallery and a nice table to sit at and watch activity in the harbour.
