I will admit I only went in for coffee & a cake following a day out in Chepstow on the train. Its Ok but I must be out on cinque with the everyone else because I don't understand where all the 5 out of 5 scores come from.It is a small part of the station building on Chepstow station. It was clean & the lady serving was polite & helpful. The coffee was ok, but I have had better. I had the only type of cake that was available which was a homemade flapjack, which fell apart when I picked it up & made it very difficult to eat.I go out a lot & write lots of reviews & I write them as I see it. On the strength of 1 visit would I call again, no, but I accept I am in the minority & everyone else seems to love it.Hi Diddy,Thank you for your review,May i start by saying our homemade flapjack is a sell out, Its not your rock hard stuff you by in supermarkets that you can hardly get your teeth in to.All our customers love it so we will continue to make it the way we do.., We also are not a coffee shop ,We are a traditional cafe serving home cooked meals, Allday breakfast, 99.9% of our customers love it , Sorry you were slightly disappointed ,but sometimes we cant always please everyone.

We ducked into this café for a lunch on a rainy afternoon after hiking to the Devil’s Pulpit. It was cozy and warm. I had the poached salmon served with delicious small potatoes and a sauce as well as a country salad (rocket, beans, cucumber, lettuce, and beets). All delicious. My friend had the three Welsh sausages (not very spicy) served with gravy and mashed potatoes which looked and was reported as being very good. We finished our meals with coffee and homemade muffins – also excellent.

Lovely experience in the middle of nowhere. Initial wafer snack delivered massively more taste than an identical looking offering from Restaurant Gordon Ramsay later in the week. Other outstanding taste sensations from fermented carrot, black pudding, heritage tomatoes, dexter beef. Great job.

Had a family lunch here as we were visiting the Abbey. Food was awful - badly presented, terrible tasting and evidently made using lowest quality ingredients.Service was curt and unfriendly to say the least. Place is very shabby and worn - cleanliness/appearance left a lot to be desired. Suffice to say if it wasn’t for the favourable position next to Tintern Abbey I cant imagine anyone would ever eat here. We left most of our lunch uneaten - and at £25 for some sandwiches for 4 people - it wasn’t cheap.Wouldn’t recommend.
