Went there for dinner. Big mistake. The restaurant is located in Okayama train station. No tables. Only a counter. The place is small and not pleasant. Rated number 5 in TripAdvisor. The quality of the sushi was not good enough. The stuff were nice and helpful. The beer was good.

We asked our driver to recommend a sushi place for lunch, and this is where he took us after making a couple of phone calls and making sure they would be able to serve us as it would be about 2pm by the time we would arrive. Fukuzushi was pretty busy when we got there, so took them a while to prep our choices, but well worth waiting for. They seem to specialise in less common fish, and the flavours were delectable. The sushi rice, ditto. Miso soup superb. Each sushi piece seemed to have exactly the right amount of wasabi to balance the particular fish. Creative plates for serving, which just adds to the feeling of quality. Not cheap, of course, but incredible value for what we ate. Would go back at the drop of a hat
