What a cosy atmosphere in this nice place in hotel Go2Bed. The hotel is great and so is its little bar and restaurant. I stayed here several nights for the second time. The owners write hospitality with capital H. My tips are the special gin tonic, the homemade banana toffee dessert and a delicious Argentinian entrecote! And if you're still hungry try one of the flammkuchen.

The Dinner was excellent. The grilled meat was very good. We had cooked potato with white cream, diff. Vegetables, Pommes frites and grilled Sweet banana. The Cabernet sauvignon red wine was very good too.

We used to like this restaurant but what has happened to the service and food? Have the owners changed? I had to literally signal for our wine bottle to be opened. Our food took AGES to come and when it did, complete mixup! You can only blame new apprentices so much! I expect more in this country with these prices! After rectifying my dish (whilst my husband already had to eat to avoid it getting cold), I had what I suspect was not the cut of meat I ordered and had to rush as we had theatre tickets. I had already said I would not pay for my meal after this fiasco. Bill eventually came and it was on it! Complained AGAIN and rectified. Never ever again! The same owner has the Minamoto which I also recently visited. Overpriced bland food. Had a really great night out with the family at Hattoriâs. While the overall atmosphere was soso, the food was incredible. Main courses we would definitely recommend to try: octopus, seafood platter, and the duck. Really well done - teppanyaki style and cooked directly in front of you. It was great to see the staff handle the different preferences of our big group how the steaks should be done. I requested for medium well , and it was made according to my liking . The rib eye was spot on juicy and tender . Complimenting it was the baked potato with sour cream and the garlic toast . I had the Swiss beer to go with that. Donât forget to try the pepper marinade which is like a special secret sauce. And yes , they sell the sauce .Also liked the complimentary starter of bread with their special dip . And the salads as well ( I ordered the American which is just thousand island dressing for its greens). Decided to try the burger. Quite substantial. And conveniently they supply black plastic gloves so you can eat without getting into a total mess. 18 euro is on the pricey side for a burger. Service was a bit slow and inattentive. Bread came some minutes after the mains. About 20 mins walk from the last stop at the end of tram 8 from Basel.
