Selva is a coastal comarca (county) in Catalonia, Spain, located between the mountain range known as the Serralada Transversal or Puigsacalm and the Costa Brava (part of the Mediterranean coast). Unusually, it is divided between the provinces of Girona and Barcelona, with Fogars de la Selva being part of Barcelona province, and all other municipalities falling inside Girona province. Also unusually, its capital, Santa Coloma de Farners, is no longer among its larger municipalities, with the coastal towns of Blanes and Lloret de Mar having far surpassed it in size.

Make sure you book for a Saturday night, although the staff were so helpful and accommodated us - restaurant ambience is traditional majorcan style, excellent food and the waiters were so friendly, smiling all the time. Facu the manager had a great sense of humour and remembered our food selection from the night before - that's what i call good service!

When we first arrived the bar area was full but plenty of room in the restaurant so was directed there. The waiter was very friendly an effective. Drinks first as usual and bread with dips as appetisers then prawns and potato crockets all inclusive. I fancied a steak but I don't like it raw but not well done either so was advised a hot plate to cook my own (I also had an excellent red wine with my lunch) Which I did the meat was so succulent and tasty, by far the best I have ever tasted. Then finished off with pancake in caramel sauce perfect end to a meal. Then the waiter brought a caramel liquor as an after dinner drink which also complemented the desert, also free of charge all in all a wonderful experience. On the strength of yesterday we have booked for Sunday lunch

Visited whilst staying in nearby Binibona. Although the surrounding area isn't spectacular being in a working town the food is excellent. I had there meat special which was only 13 Euro and consisted of salad, starter then main course of chirozo, and 2 types of steak and baked potato. My husband had the most delicious steak. The wine was very reasonable and service excellent. Children are well catered for with Pizza also on offer. The food is cooked on open barbeque coals in sight of the diners.If you are staying in Palma it is very easy to get the train to Inca station whilst is just a couple of hundred metres from the restaurant.Overall if you want an excellent steak dinner at a reasonable price this is the place to go.
