Over from the UK and touring the beautiful Western Cape. Have seen the Spur in many towns on the route and thought I would give this one a try. Extensive menu, helpful service and good sized portions.I ordered the rump steak, not sure what sort of sauce it is cooked or marinated in but was disappointed it did not just taste of steak. My friend didn't want his mushroom sauce which was very tasty and usefully disguised the flavour of my steak. Have had far better steak in independent restaurants in SA for a similar price. Onion rings a bit too greasy for me too. Shame as I am not a food snob, just thought it could have been done better. Sadly S Africa is plagued by power cuts and on our visit to the Ski-Boat Club cafe we hit one! But this is an unusual little cafe, directly set on the beach, could have served fish & chips, seafoods etc. We felt that the should-shrugging staff were familiar with these power cuts...so we had a drink & left. Shame. Worth visiting on another occasion.
