I honestly had the best time and a lovely meal at Elvet. The staff are so professional and attentive. I loved my wagyu beef, which was cooked to perfection, had it medium rare and it melted like butter. The flowers were a lovely touch. We couldn't fault a single thing. The quality of the dishes are beyond words. Thank you so much for making it a meal to remember. Can't wait to come back! We work to the best of our capability in order to ensure our guests receive the upmost best service. Had the fish soup followed by salmon.The food was first rate. The fish soup was robust and peppery with just that background hint of anise. Gorgeous.The salmon was great - cooked to perfection, moist flesh and crispy skin, served with delicious saute potatoes and puncy aoli and watercress.Also snuck from other diners plates - Duck was perfect!Finished with a choc and orange 'charlotte' delicious sponge with sweet orange. Incredible.I ate here before - sunday roast - it was a swiss watch. Have visited this restaurant a few times however I was not impressed with service or food.i had my granddaughter's with me we had to wait 20minutes to be shown a table.We had already purchased drinks at the bar so ordered our meals,the girls had children's menu and myself and daughter ordered from main menu.The children's food arrived five minutes before ours was served.The food was awful overcooked dry chicken coleslaw wasn't pleasant,my daughter's meal also not particularly pleasant.I don't know if it has changed hands but not as nice experience as in other visits.I do appreciate it was a Sunday but level of service needs attention.Dont think I would recommend this place to my friends and family.Its not value for money.Hi Wendy, thank you for your review. First of all what an awesome place, lovely decoration and atmosphere. The food is cooked to perfection, an you could feel that the food is fresh as it can get!!!!The staff were amazing especially ABDUR RAHMAN!!!! What an awesome guy, he's recommendation were spot on...he knew exactly what we would like... very polite and attentive. I would definitely recommend this place. Awesome!!! Keep it up! I think it says it all when you are dining in a restaurant and immediately think I must leave this place a review on TripAdvisor. I recently dined at Mirage to celebrate my anniversary with my partner. It was my first time back to the restaurant since 2015 as I was aware that the ownership was different and therefore was reluctant to try it again. The experience was even better than my memories. The service and value for money is all exceptional. Moora has kept the standard just as good as before if not better. Service â the service at Mirage is a very personal one which makes you feel like you have had the full dining experience. Moora is extremely polite and friendly, and was insistent we had a complimentary after dinner drink which we had to politely decline a few times! Food â The complimentary bread and garlic butter to start is a delicious appetizer and I am yet to find ANYWHERE else in Essex where I live that does a better steak. The steaks are a considerably reasonable price of circa £20 for a portion size which is roughly 400g. The flavour, tenderness and cut is delicious. I adore the steak diane. In my opinion Mirage is much better than any other more fancy decorated restaurants charging circa £35 for steaks half the size. Mirage also offers a vast amount of choice on the menu of meat and fish dishes. I am so glad I came back here and will not leave it so long next time, thanks to Moora for such an enjoyable meal. I would highly recommend Mirage - it will be the best value for money steak you will find in London guaranteed.

Havenât been in a while and to be honest it has become a bit of a disappointment, itâs still cozy but the atmosphere has been lostThe waitress seemed totally disinterested and as for the waiter who brought the food he seemed more interested in the group of guyâs sitting on the other side who he seemed to know, couldnât even give the dishes to the right people even when we told him as he wasnât paying attention The food is ok but is there a new chef? As it seems to have lost a bit of its spark, and the portion sizes have become small, a handful of chips at most , and as good as the cheesecake was any smaller and you would need a search party to find it!! It used to be good value but we felt a little short changedBarking only has one restaurant of this type and itâs sad to see that itâs falling from the standard it used to have
