Three of us had dinner and the meal, overall, was quite good. The lamb was tender, properly rare, and tasty. The whale steak was right on rare and, as the waitress advised, âsimilar to other red meatâ. (I thought close to bison.) The vegetables, especially the baked potatoes, were most interesting and flavorful. The disappointment came in the cheese platter. The cheeses had not been allowed to come to room temperature so their flavor was somewhat muted and some of the wedges were reminiscent of Bon Bel with a dusting of herbs. The atmosphere was very nice.

I believe this is an Icelandic chain, offering burgers and a lot more. Staying at the nearby Nordurey hotel, this was 5-7 minutes walk in the snow. Just far enough to whet the appetite. The burger and the fries were quite good, certainly better than any of the chain burger joints back in our home town. Based on the reviews they may have occasional growing pains, but we were pleased to find a good meal for less than $20. This is no small accomplishment in Iceland. They have a pretty broad menu. This was one of the three best meals we got in Hafnarfjordur, and tied for lowest price.We'd go back...

The food is great quality. I had 4 course dinner with wine pairing. The first dish with cod was made in an exotic way with some spicy touch and very well tasting. A fat dish but very good. Second w lobster taco was the highlight. The lamb was all too large portion for me. Could be made nicer with less potato mash and more attention to look and feel. The portion was kind of king size, but some people prefer that. They served me white chocolate mousse for dessert - absolutely great taste and not too much. The service was very good. Very well worth visiting and not expensive considering quality of food and service.

I first visited this restaurant in August 2014 and visiting Reykjavik this Year again, we were happy to repeat the fine experience of 5 years ago.Even though the place was packed (it was the night before culture Day) and we had not made a reservation, the friendly staff ensured us we would have a table in 20 minutes.We enjoyed the various delicious steaks which were perfectly prepared. Also: try the mushrooms as a side dish. They were a perfect companion for the steaks. When we go back in 5 years, we will certainly visit the place again.
