Where to eat Spanish food in St. Augustine: The Best Restaurants and Bars

December 10, 2019 Trinity Boughner

Find out what Spanish restaurants to try in St. Augustine. Saint Augustine is a luxurious, romantic vacation spot—you’ll find classic hotels and intimate restaurants. Those can be a dime a dozen, though. What sets Saint Augustine apart is its history—it’s the oldest European settlement in the U.S. And nowhere else in the world can you taste the waters of the Fountain of Youth Archeological Park (where Ponce de Leon may have landed). Who knows, if you vacation here, maybe you won’t need that Botox!

Had breakfast two mornings while staying at the hotel. While service is a bit slow (only 1 server) the food was excellent. The omelets were really flavorful and fresh and fluffy and the bacon perfectly crispy. The pancakes were light and airy, and they didn't bat an eye when having to redo them for my fussy son. The breakfast sandwich was tasty and fresh. The blueberry crepes good but a bit small for the likes of my teenager. Overall a great value and I would very much recommend (even though it is in a hotel restaurant)

I've been visiting this bakery since the 1970s. The cookies were made with lard then and delicious. They're still good and better for you but I reminisce about the old type. Nice place for a snack, a roll for tomorrow's breakfast, or a simple lunch.Thank you for taking the time to provide feed back on The Spanish Bakery & Cafe. We hope you enjoyed our food and look forward to seeing you again!

We loved the interior and it was quite large. This is a very popular restaurant. We started with the complimentary bread and butter. Good but lots of crumbs. I had the stuffed shrimp which was delicious and the vegetables, mushrooms and tomatoes, and some really good dark rice. My husband had 2 tapas that were quite large: the shrimp / crab dip and the crab cakes. He said both were very good. The crab cakes were quite large, especially for the price! I had soooo many people recommend this restaurant to me that we just had to try it and were glad that we did!

Casa Maya, Saint Augustine Stopped by Casa Maya for a quick lunch on Tuesday, August 27, 2019. We sat in their courtyard and our waiter showed up to take our order. He didn’t say his name but was extremely polite, funny and professional. He made a few suggestions. We ordered: chips and salsa, and shared a pulpo nachos. Everything was amazing!!!! The food was super delicious and fresh. Would we go back?? Oh yes!!!!
