I had never had lobster, so I was very excited to try a lobster roll, but the lobster was a bit chewy.... the chowder, on the other hand, I would have eaten by the bucket! It was SOOO amazing!! The staff was very friendly and knowledgable about the menu and the town, and even recommended an ice cream shop down the street.

This gem of a restaurant is of the beaten path but we'll with finding.It is located on the waterfront with beautiful views. The food is all home made and extremely tasty. The chowder and stew are unique and delicious with no fillers. The jumbo lobster roll is well with them money. I believe it is 5 full ounces of 100% lobster meat. Delicious!Being a small restaurant all the food is prepared from scratch in gliding the pies for dessert.It is a great find and We will be backIt is a very nice little find and I will return.Thank you so much for the awesome review!!We really appreciate you taking the time and so happy you enjoyed your lunch!:)

. I was staying at the hotel where this restaurant is located. It seems they love to use salt to honor their name but when it too salty, I hate it! The fish they serve me was well cook but the over saltedtaste stop me to eat it after few bites. The also overcooked my wife scallops. The service was really good. I am so sorry you did not enjoy your meals! We do not add salt to our fish entrees. The chef hopes that the fresh taste of the sea will be enough for any palette. We apologize if your meal tasted extra salty on your visit! I am glad you enjoyed the service, and hope that you will come see us again the next time you are in the area!

While the Roundabout has Bloody Marys and Flights of Mimosas, their food is "average" at best. Plentiful but greasy. With so much competition in Portsmouth and Hampton, one would think the food at the Roundabout would be better!

My husband and I discovered this small soup restaurant last year while on vacation. We couldn't believe the taste and quality of the soups offered that day. Two weeks ago, we were camping in the area and ate there twice. There are usually 4-5 fresh soup containers. They have small cups that you can try each soup before you choose the one you want to either eat there, or, take with you. We both chose their beef stew. I make my own beef stew, my family recipe, and usually will not buy it in a restaurant. I couldn't believe the taste of that stew. My husband usually wouldn't choose a beef stew over a broth soup, but he tasted it, and bought it. We each had a fresh wrap with the stew. We bought a container to go, as well as the chicken noodle, and an incredible Thai soup that was so tasty. Bowls are $6.00 and so worth it. It cost us $50. for 3 ribs of fresh soup, and the stew we ate there. We made a second visit 2 days later. They've won "best soup" awards 3 years in a row. They have dairy & gluten free soups as well. You get free crackers and a fresh bread roll with your purchase. They are open Monday - Friday 11:00 - 6:00, and 11:00 - on Sat, closed on Sunday. You will pleasantly surprised - high quality, awesome variety, the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Visited here while in town to visit friends and former work associates. They all raved about the place, and rightly so.The food, from the seafood chowder, to the salmon with sweet potato hash and deep fried brussel sprouts, was fantastic. Had a few Harpoon beers as well (not available where I live).Only minor complaint was lack of friendliness from both our waitress and the bartender (we moved to the bar area after our meal). Both seemed a little perturbed for some reason. We were by far a "needy" group, and we spent well over $500 and tip accordingly. Maybe they had a bad staff meeting that day.Would absolutely go again for the food, hope for better service. It wasn't terrible, just not friendly.Thank you so much for your review! Our seafood chowder has won awards all over New England and we are so glad you loved it as much as we do!I am so sorry to hear that the service that night was lackluster.
