Sub shops in the college town of Kent, OH have come and gone over the years. But one has been around seemingly forever is still going strong, and with good reason. Franklin Sq. Deli has retained what made it good to start with, but has also changed with the times, always tinkering with its menu. Known primarily for its sub sandwiches, the deli also boasts excellent soups and chili, NY style sandwiches and paninis.It's a great place to have lunch in the summer on the outdoor table. A bit different dining experience (order at a counter), but an asset to the community. Excellent seafood offerings and quality ingredients are featured. Despite its appearance as a local bar, its really kind of upscale cuisine with plastic utensils. Best as a special treat or a surprise for visitors.Thank for your review...Jeff

Typical Panera fair. All of it is good. But, in my opinion, a bit high priced. But, for a nice lunch out, their soup and salad is very good.

Joining my friends for an after-golf lunch we chose to go to this place for a sandwich and beer. With a multitude of sandwich (grinder) options and a vast array of pizza selections (as well as many other menu items) we were surprised to see that it was 'counter ordering only'...even for your beer. A bit of a strange setup, but the beer was cold and the sandwich was just okay...albeit a bit messy. A bit of a mundane experience overall.Thanks for the feedback. We are counter service from 11-4. Have been for 19 years. We do however offer full service from 4-close (including a bartender) come check is out after 4 if that's more your style. Hope to see you soon.
