the setting looks ok with a pool and such.however the food is below average and quite expensive.worse even they tried to charge us more money than the menu allowed.we had some stupid explanations for that as if the english menu was not the binding one.they even changed the prices by hand when we complained.very sad!Buongiorno,sono Teresa chef/proprietaria del risr.LE GROTTE D'ARNO.Questi Signori sono venuti a cena da noi un mercoledi e appena arrivati si sono rivelati subito un po' scostanti.Abbiamo dato loro dia i menu' in inglese che in italiano i quali avevano dei prezzi aggiornati a penna in quanto proprio quel giorno il tecnico aveva installato il registratore di cassa con i prezzi aggiornati,non hanno voluto sapere spiegazioni ma mi hanno scaraventato via dalla mano il menu'.Pensavano che volessimo truffarli sul prezzo ma se cosi' fosse stato non avremmo certo offerto loro sia un antipastino che dei dolcetti a fine pasto.Traete voi le conclusioni.

We dined here twice while vacationing in Larciano and loved the food and hospitality. The dishes are fresh, homemade, and consistently delicious. There is an outdoor patio with brethtaking views.

Pity this restaurant wasn't busier, the first time we sat outside and the tables filled up during the evening, the second time (Friday night!) we were the ONLY diners! however the food was great good pasta, good steak Florentine and delicious pork fillet. all round good meal and friendly service, just lacked a bit of atmosphere inside. easy location to miss as not near other good restaurants.

We had a late night dinner at La Limonaia last week. It wasnt a very good experience. I ordered the risotto and my gf tagliatelle alla limonaia. Never had such a risotto, it wasnt even made from typical risotto rice (riso arborio). Also the taste was very flat. The tagliatelle werent a big suprise either, just butter pasta with some lemon. To top it off a bad white wine from Cantine Leonardo (they only offered 3 types of white wine) and shouting and playing childeren all over the place.

I had a great time in this place for a casual work dinner with colleagues. Very comfortable furniture and decor, airy atmosphere. Great friendly service from top notch true professionals. Tiny portions of fresh high quality ingredients combined, cooked and presented in very original manner. This is a VERY light dinner of high quality for a surprisingly small price considering the preparation and study involved. Careful - not everyone will appreciate talking more than eating, choose your companions with care!!!

The location is simply beautiful, nestled in the hills overlooking the valley. Service is excellent, consistent of their Michelin star pedigree before they moved about 6 months ago. We had the game and meat menu. Presentation and food taste are excellent. There are a few deficiencies however, in that I found a small piece of bone amongst the rice in the risotto and my wild duck was way too dry. My wife, who had the meat menu, had to visit the bathroom twice during and after the meal. It could be the wine of course. Overall I think that the food is very good, the ambience excellent and the service without parallel.

We wanted to try this new restaurant, after having used the original La Fortuna in Empoli on many occasions in the past:the new offering is much larger than the original and has a light and airy feel to it.We opted to try it out one lunchtime when they have a buffet arrangement.As you enter you are offered a table and once you've ordered your drinks, you go up to the hot table, where two ladies ask you what you'd like from the display.On this occasion there were, three starters,two meat dishes, one fish dish, one mixed vegetable, two noodle dishes and a rice dish.Happy with what we'd selected we returned to our table with very full plates where we found all the items were obviously freshly prepared and very tasty.Having finished we returned to the counter to see if we could try some of the items we hadn't tried previously which now also included some fried meat and fish starters and also Sushi.We took some of each and again found it all really well prepared
