We went there on Ferragosto - 15th august and enjoyed an amazing menu of uncounted courses. Crudi - raw fish and scampi, warm antipasti, two types of pasta, a swordfish as secondo. How many courses? can´t remember. During normal weekdays you can choose from a full menu - with the side effect that service may take a bit longer. This time, as it was a set menu, timing was just perfect.
Sei vuoi mangiare alla velocità del fast food non è il posto giusto, ma se non devi correre da nessuna parte puoi mangiare molto bene, ottima la carne, il menù non ha molte voci, ma cambia spesso, andateci tante volte!

Located in the Hotel l'Amfora, the restaurant has some fine local dishes. the decor is quite refined for an area that is basically country. Nevertheless the food was excellent. I found several managers from nearby companies eating here, I guess the quality of the food as well as the price brings them here.

I was so looking forward to eating here having visited the building some months ago and having read previous reviews. We went as three couples on a saturday lunchtime. The place was quiet with only three businesss men in suits eating other than us.The menu is small, yet several things were not available. One of us chose a prawn dish and after ordering was told it too wasn't available, but they would substitute the prawns for other prawns? They substituted it for Cepe and she could not eat it. I had lobster and it was clearly frozen as some of the middle of the claws was still ice cold. It had no taste and all tomato sauce, strange for such a delicate and expensive fish (E18). To cap it all when the second plates arrived mine did so 15 mims after the others. A fritto mista Peculiar given it takes no time to cook? Everyone else had long finished and i would have asked her not to bother but group embarrassment stopped me. Some plates were fine but all in all the food was patchy. The service was slow and terrible. One woman served and for a while we thought she might be cooking too? We think another person was in the kitchen? I had read and been told about their wine waiter and was looking forward to reading their list. We never got offered it and told it was house wines only. An ok red and an ok white. No price, no idea. Far too expensive and average food. Too tight to have ample staff on or run a smaller cheaper menu of food they have in stock on quiet days. Crazy. Also she concluded by declining credit cards that work before and since, perhaps in the hope of cash? Slow and patchy service and very disappointing. Expensive for Abruzzo, yet far from special. You can eat not 1 km away far better for less. You can't eat a nice building and trade only on busy sunday lunchtime punters. Another one for closure no doubt sometime soon. When will people who want to run Restaurants learn that there is more to it than they think. We believe that positive or negative criticisms are very important to grow up and that's why we usually donât reply to any review.Unfortunately, this is not a review just about: food, service, location and staff. We have been personally insulted. First of all, you were expected at 1:00 p.m. and you arrived at 2:10 p.m. You were in six and ordered six different first and second courses of meat and fish, which mean very varied choices. Everything has been appreciated because all the dishes came back empty. The lobster wasnât frozen, we only have fresh seafood. Maybe you are used to eating frozen fish, and thatâs why you didnât recognize the fresh lobster. The prawn dish was available, but there was probably a misunderstanding; the only the mullet wasnât available. The person who ordered the risotto said that the presence of prawns instead of the mullet wasnât a problem. Our waitress wasnât working in our kitchen too. We want to apologize for the fritto misto. It took too much time for cooking it. The worst part of this review is suspicious about the declined credit card because we hoped to be paid with cash. We never asked to be paid with cash. The payment was made with a second credit card because the first one didnât go. We donât understand why a customer should suspect that we wanted to be paid with cash. This is insulting and disrespectful. Do you also know our booking and customers on Sunday lunchtime? You also allude to that we are going to close very soon. Disrespectful! We accept any kind of opinions if the food is under expectations, that's ok. If our service isn't satisfying, thatâs ok. If our organization isn't good enough, thatâs ok. But we canât allow anyone to suspect that we are not honest people.
Nice local restaurant in the middle of town, specializes in pizza during the week but on a Sunday they do a full on set menu. Local antipasti to start then a lasagne that was so simple but delicious, then a meat course with side salad. With wine and coffee 35 euros for the two of us. Fortunately we didn't have far to waddle home.Highly recommended we will be regulars.

had great hopes, nicely presented resturant, warm welcome and excellent starter, however main was disappointing and felt a bit rushed towards the end. Wouldn't say value for money as dearest meal we have had in Aburzzo but not the best.

We visited this restaurant for a special dinner with local friends (group of 5) in September 2015. Interestingly we have passed the place many times in the past (we have a holiday home in the area), but we never thought to call in. The restaurant is a family run and situated on the ground floor of a hotel. The building and premises are modern but at the same time using traditional materials - local stone, choice of colours etc. There is plenty of parking outside of the restaurant, children's play area and outside seating. The grounds are well tended with lots of trees and plants. The restaurant is spacious and there is plenty of room between the tables. The setting is really smart with good attention to detail from starched table clothes to immaculate cutlery and flower arrangements.Apparently this is one of the local top spots for weddings, christenings, anniversaries etc. We had a fish and seafood set menu consisting of cold and hot starters (octopus carpaccio was really nice), delicious mussels, pasta with seafood, gnocchi, local fried fish, selection of cakes, fruit and local "digestivo". What can I say, the meal was exceptional! The quality of a local seafood is excellent and what is important everything was made totally from scratch, they even make their own bread - several types of. Interestingly when we asked about the pasta, local chitarra was not available, but they made it from scratch for us literally while we we having our numerous starters, now this is what we call service! The staff was mega friendly and they have own sommelier who came up with good suggestions for local wine to go with the meal. The wine actually was produced just a mile or so from the restaurant, one of our favourite cantinas (Spinelli). We did not check the other menu, but they do meat and grill as well. Would have awarded 6 stars for excellent food and service, if I could! Thank you for our pleasant evening and we will be back soon and will recommend to our guests and visitors!

This place along the ss652 road is excellent. Overlook the quasi-modern look of the hotel/restaurant and focus on the good old traditional Abruzzese cuisine, it's great. By the way, the portions are enormous. The prices are very reasonable.
