Located in a converted 100+ year old home this is a great restaurant. Start out with a Margarita. The appetizers are plentiful but ask for any special ones not on the menu. We were here with a group of 8. Everyone had a different dish and all were pleased. Service is typical of Costa Rica (la pura vida) so prepare to sit for a while as the dishes come out one or two at ta time. Incredible deserts and fresh locally grown coffee.

We found Palo Santa Grill & Restaurante and were super lucky to have done so. The food was incredible - ceviche and and the shared seafood appetizer were loved by all and the seafood fettuccine was a great choice. The hamburger was perfection - and substantial. Panza llena - corazon contento. The restaurant is beautiful and just a few feet from the main road but feels secluded and has a view that will make you feel as if you are on a Finca far from town. The service was impeccable and our waiter Alfonso was accommodating and charming. All in all the family agreed this was the best meal weâve enjoyed in Costa Rica.

We were greeted by John and the service was courteous.The food is outstanding and varied, the ceviches delicious , the hamburger with fries cooked the way I wanted .Good atmosphere with musical events at night.We really would recommend this place.Thank you very much!! We hope to see you soon!

If you're looking for the best food, service and ambiance in all of Atenas your search is over. This is an easy drive only 3 minutes from town using Waze. You won't get lost - really. Frank welcomed us warmly in his lush tropical "yard" and when we asked him for his recommendation, he enthusiastically pointed us towards the sea bass and shrimp with his special La Trocha sauce. Dining at La Trocha is an experience. Frank happily worked his kitchen magic while we lazily sipped wine and enjoyed Costa Rican jazz music. The food is unequivocally the best we've had in Atenas. Portions are huge...if you like to leave with leftovers you won't be disappointed. But Frank...he's the real magic. No, he doesn't speak English and our Spanish is very limited. Yet we enjoyed his companionship for over five hours on our most recent visit. And yes, we learned a lot of Spanish that night, and when our phone batteries were nearly dead from translations he brought out chargers. In no time we were "family". A truly congenial, warm-hearted man and I'd be remiss not to say I can't wait come back. Our favorite night of our 2-week trip. Absolute gem.

Iâve been there twice. The food is wonderful Good service We went back with friends and it was even better. They have several types of adult beverages. Maybe 20-25 different liquors. This is very unusual for the area. I understand they are talking to jazz musicians from all over and are planning on having world class jazz on some nights.i highly recommend this establishment

We often eat at Momentos when we are near Naranjo. Today we stopped by for lunch. We shared a Ceviche, then my wife ordered the chicken rice and I ordered the fish. The ceviche was excellent. Both other dishes were pretty good.

Located across Calle Central from the soccer field in Sarchi North, Mariscos Donald's food is prepared to order and quite good. The ceviche was excellent, with lots of citrus juice and red bell pepper chunks with fresh white fish. The casado with fish was large and full of typical food. One surprise was what appeared to be a small omelet of fresh green beans...never seen that before and it tasted pretty good. Note that the fish on the casado plate was darker meat than the fish in the ceviche...probably a more oily fish.The batidos (fruit juice drinks) were excellent. I got the cas (a local citrus fruit) and my wife got the papaya and pina mix...both were good flavors...hers was sweeter and more like a desert drink.
