It is the site of Quechee Gorge on the Ottauquechee River and is also the home to the Quechee Lakes planned community initiated in the late 1960s, which also brought to the community the small Quechee Lakes Ski Area in the 1970s.

The food was excellent â hats off to the chef/kitchen. My husband thought the salmon was the best heâd EVER had. Flavorful, cooked correctly, delicious. The service was not what we expected for this nice of a place; they appeared to be understaffed. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation time and waited almost 10 minutes before anyone spoke to us, although several wait staff passed us in the entryway. Then a man, who turned out to be our waiter, asked us to wait until they went to clean off a table. After my husbandâs soup, I asked what the small bowl of oil and herbs was for on the table. Waiter replied âfor the bread,â and then realized he had not brought us any. It was delicious too, but was brought to the table after we had begun our entrees. Waiter also did not check regularly to replenish drinks. Sometimes it is the little things.Thank you so much for visiting! We are so happy you enjoyed the food and you are right we had a last minute staff emergency and which carried over into the evening service. We take service, hospitality and attention to detail very seriously and are disappointed we couldn't carry out our stellar service for which we are known. Hopefully you will be in the area again and we can take fantastic care of you and your group!

My husband and I chose Melazo Bistro for dinner while we were visiting in Woodstock. Our meal was excellent! Our server, John, was very attentive and pleasant to interact with.The menu theme is Caribbean. My meal was a pork shank which literally fell off the bone accompanied by plaintains and a yummy guava rum glaze. My husband enjoyed his Jerk Chicken accompanied by plaintains and rice. Both were beautifully presented and full of wonderful Caribbean seasonings.Due to the warm fall temperatures, we were able to enjoy our meal on their outdoor patio while listening to music from the islands. I can wholeheartedly recommend Melaza for your dinner experience.

The snack bar is perfect spot for lunch after shopping for antiques or after a hike down to the gorge, picnic tables in the shade, had the fried clams, fries, rings and peanut butter shake, all were delicious, there is a gift shop next door with bathrooms

Went on a Saturday evening around 6:30, but luckily we caught a weekend without any big events going on so it wasn't as crowded as it can be.Can't say enough. Seafood fresh, well prepared. Friendly staff, efficient. I couldn't decide, so I got a fried platter, shrimp, scallops, haddock and clams. Small (bay) scallops, but still good. Even the clams were tender. My wife had baked stuffed shrimp, and she raved about the roasted potatoes. I had the seafood chowder also, not to be missed.
