November 5, 2019 Merry Kessler

Find out what Seafood restaurants to try in Narragansett. With four of the state's most popular beaches, Narragansett is a favorite summer destination of Rhode Island residents. Scarborough State Beach alone has 2,325 feet of sandy beach frontage. Once a wealthy community rivaling nearby Newport, the rich history of Narragansett is still visible. The Towers, spanning Ocean Drive, is the only remaining section of a luxurious casino built in 1883. Having survived numerous fires and vicious nor'easters, The Towers is the town's most enduring landmark.

I have always enjoyed Turtle Soup (especially before I became a plant-based eater), so for a late dinner in Narragansett Friday night, it immediately came to mind. It's not the most vegan-friendly menu and that is my one regret. However, for seafood lovers, it's heaven. They modified the beet salad, which was quite good. And I ordered a vegetable side dish, which was fine.

It was raining cats and dogs as we took the elevator to the rooftop bar @ Chair5. Despite the rain we settled in for a nice lunch - Fish Tacos and a wonderful burger properly cooked with cheddar cheese, bacon and bib lettuce on a brioche bun. The bartender, Todd, made great drinks and gave us the scoop about the hotel. It’s a pleasant, impeccably clean and well-decorated place kind of off the beaten path but 5 minutes from the Block Island ferry slip. The roof deck is small but on a sunny day you’d definitely need the sun screen - they even have a pair of binoculars so you can watch the boats pass on to Block Island Sound. We definitely will do back.

South County is fortunate to have a number of good seafood joints. This is good for the customers, good for the customers, and good for the community. When you think "Oyster Bar,' your first thought is the Matunuck Oyster Bar, then maybe George's. The 210 is in that league, but maybe suffers a little bit to the competition. Matunuck is probably number one, because of its close connection with the oyster farms operated by the owner. The Ninigrets--OMG. They're tiny but the taste is sinful. George's has the history and atmosphere, and other than parking issues during the summer, is fine. The 210 has changed hands several times, but things now seem to have pretty much settled down. It is right in back of a marina, so you can see all the boats that the owners take out maybe once a month. The sanitary standards gave me confidence to order raw stuff, and I've never had a backlash. If you're in the area, worth a sidetrip. Hi Frank,Thank you for taking the time to write a review regarding your experiences at TwoTen. We look forward to continuing to provide you with quality food and service that meets your expectations. Thank you also for your continued support and patronage.

I like the area of Mariner Sq. as there are a few nice places to choose from here. This restaurant has one of the largest menu selections in the area and so something for everyone. I really like the steaks and they are always done to perfection. Now the prices are a bit higher than some of the others in the area however with the great quality it is well worth the extra dollar or two. The service was a bit on the slow side but we were not in a rush and the waitstaff itself was very nice and polite. I think the kitchen may have been backed up a bit.not enough to make it a problem. My wife had a fish dish (she always does) and she said it was perfect. Everything was very fresh, came out hot, and was plated to perfection. We go here at least once every summer and always are well treated and like it very much. A good place to stop.

Aunt Carrie's Restaurant

Aunt Carries is about the most perfect clam shack there is. It's a seasonal restaurant, within sight of the Point Judith Lighthouse. Although there is often a long line to eat-in, we got lucky on a late season, cool Monday--there was almost no wait at all. However, the food remains excellent! Fish and chips, Fried clam strips, and fried whole belly clams were what this group enjoyed, along with clam chowder (clear and white, no one tasted the red this trip), cole slaw, real mashed potatoes, and apple pie. How much more perfect could it be? The fried items were tasty, not excessively breaded, and not greasy. Perfect amount of salt, which means that one of our group used the salt shaker, but the rest of us were satisfied. Selection of beers was good [they've recently gone from BYOB to licensed] and the most popular were local Rhode Island brews. The only note of disatisfaction was the price of a few dinners. I considered the steamed clams dinner-until I found out that the market price was $44! So I 'settled' for the fried whole bellies, which was a mere $27. I can't tell you if the steamed clams were worth the price, but the whole bellies certainly were.

Really a nice location to watch the fishing boats going in and out. On the loud side as they had a wedding with DJ going on, a live guy playing guitar, and all the dinners. Food was above average but far from fine dining. I'd give this a better rating for a lunch place vs nice evening out for seafood. Staff was good at the hostess level, very average at the table and poor with the bar keep(never heard of a place you can't transfer your bar tab to the table for dinner).Hi Peter, sounds like you were here on a hectic night. I apologize that your experience did not meet your expectations. Next time I would suggest dining in our downstairs dining room, as both our live music and function room are upstairs. Normally it would not be any problem transferring your bar tab, so I am not sure what happened there. If you have any other comments or concerns, please reach out - [email protected]

My husband and I came here twice while we were staying at Aqua Blue. The first night we just went to the bar which was really nice. Bartender was very personable. I had the peach sangria. I was excited to be sweet but it wasn’t. It was very strong. We decided to make a reservation for the next night.y husband got the salmon and I got the steak. The food was good but nothing to write home about. We got dessert but I can tell it was not made in house. The service was very slow. I would recommend for drinks and food if you’re looking for convenience. Thank you for joining us Michele. We are glad that you enjoyed your time here and we appreciate you coming back for dinner. I do wish our food had made a better impression on you - we have built our reputation on serving exceptional food. We hope if you are ever back in Narragansett we can deliver a more memorable meal to your both. Gratefully, Joe Parker General Manager

It was a round corner table with a beautiful view of the ocean. Our waitress was very young and cared more about standing near the cute guy at a high top table than doing more than a cursory check with us.I would call her our drive by waitress. This is a pricey restaurant.Entrees do not come with anything- so sides are extra.Everyone ordered something different including one friend who is gluten free.Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal.Portions were adequate - but not abundant. The house dressing for the salads is especially good as was the bread in the bread basket.I am rating it a 5 because the ( expensive) dinner deserves that.flehrer Thank you for joining us for dinner. We had a large party and it took a hour to get seated on a Thursday evening at 7pm, despite having a reservation, but it’s peak season and the drinks were generously poured so not a problem. What WAS a problem was the over cooked baked stuffed lobster that was supposed to be stuffed with scallops but was in fact stuffed with mostly Ritz cracker crumbs and a couple of well hidden morsels that might have amounted to one not particularly large scallop! On the other hand I tasted their veal chop and it was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked.Ambience was nice, service was good. Had I ordered that veal chop I would definitely have given it another star!
