Our group was in Marksville for a workshop at the Paragon casino and we came here one day after field work. We ended up eating with a relatively large group of about 10 or 12 people and the waitress was more than likely quite stressed about handling each separate bill. We ended up waiting quite some time for our bills, however, like I said before this long wait was justified. I got a blonde ale ($2 during happy hour) and a black and bleu burger which was great. One of the people in my group kept coming back here everyday since with others in the workshop because she enjoyed the restaurant so much.

Heard different reviews about this local restaurant. I highly recommend it. Had the catfish Avoyelles. Perfectly fried catfish (3large) pieces with rice and a well seasoned crawfish bisque on top. Very filling and worth the price.

The seafood lasagne special is what drew us in the door, but we were initially told they were "out", but came back and said "they made more". Our birthday girl ordered that and a mango cocktail. It was tasty, but she at one point commented "Oh there's a shrimp!" as though there weren't many. She also mentioned there wasn't much alcohol in her drink, and that the glass was mostly full of whip creme. My daughter ordered the frogs legs, which were large and quite tasty! The best pick of our table! The accompanying cole slaw, however, tasted like a bowl of mayonaise with cabbage in it.I had the corn soup with gator and sausage over rice. It was a little spicy, which overpowered the rest of the flavours. There was very little gator and sausage, and the rice was still hard.It was kind of a fun spot, but I'm not sure I would go back unless we were looking for something open late again.
