Norsminde Fiskehus

If you like your stjerneskud simple and fresh, this is the place to go. White fish, breaded fish, some shrimps, some dressing and salad, large pieces of white asparagus on white toast. You sit on comfortable outdoor "sofas" of bolted-together wooden pallets as you watch boats sail by. Life is good. The only drawback - there is a very limited selection of wines. But one should have a beer with stjerneskud anyway. Life is still good as you enjoy the summer sun tempered by the cool breeze.

Himmel & Hav

The food is excellent, "interesting setting": You sit in a tent overlooking the sea in a storm! But it is heated. However its absolutely not fair on staff (or guest) to let a young girl loose as server, when she obviously recieved absolutely NO TRAINING in either the menu nor the way you serve food, and clear tables.

This is a very nice restaurant. Small and cosy. Quite interesting decor with servers that are very helpful and speak excellent English (as quite the norm in Denmark). The menu was rather small, but with very good choices. Ingredients are of good quality and the result is really good. Including their bred! The wine list is also not huge but offers rather good options. We selected French and Italian wine and they were really excellent. Highly recommended.Dear HUJ765Thank you for taking the time to write a review of Mefisto. Your words are much appreciated and they describe very well what we do and what we hope that our guest experienche - so thank you.

Pihlkjaer

Stashed away in a cute little backyard of Aarhus' lovely Latin Quarter is Pihlkjaer, a restaurant that isn't all too subtle about its heft when it comes to seafood. This aspect dominates the menu. What is also good though, for vegetarians and vegans, is that they have specific 3 course meals catered to this culinary preference too. In fact, Aarhus Travel Guide 2017 recommends this place in a list of only 5 restaurants as being good for vegetarian. We were here on a Thursday night in Dec'16 for my sister's Graduation Dinner. The place had a coziness that Danes must love with their fondness for Hygge. It also registered somewhere between mid-range and fine dining on the dining scale. The Sis, Wife and I stuck to said a 3-course vegetarian meal and we encountered many a unique gastronomic sensation during our dining here. I wish I could remember what we had here in detail but everything was either delicious or aroused a part of my taste bud that I didn't know existed hitherto. They have set menus for Fish, Meat and Vegetarian options for each day they are open. Wine is part of the 3 course meal. The price ranges from 275 Kr to 325 Kr (Dec'16). We were waited on by women who took pains to explain what it was that we were to be served in English. Most Danes are extremely proficient in English owing to the language being a mainstay of their schooling. Nevertheless, it must still be difficult to know the names of specific herbs, sauces and the like. This was also a mildly hilarious experience for both parties with one of them admitting to not knowing the English equivalent of a particular thing and offering a sheepish grin to go with it! The place did become noticeably louder as the night wore on, something we were surprised by as it did not fit in with our impression of Denmark.
