That was a very nice place to eat out. Food and service was good, but was disappointed the next morning that they was not open for breakfast as confirmed the previous night.Thanks for the review and feed back, I am very sorry that the waitress did not gave you the right information we only open at 9 O'clock to clean the Restaurant and open for our clients at 10 in the morning, but we also did help people before 10.

We went here twice when in Lüderitz. This is a very nice location with local ambience, but seating is uncomfortable. On the first evening we had excellent service, but the fish was completely undercooked. On the second evening they had run out of the wine we had the night before (stock up maybe?), service was really bad and the pork I had was was still rare. Sent it back and will look into other options for next time.

Tyves was the bartender, great service. Good food and nice wine list with some special additions like a Grenache blanc viognier blend from Boekenhoutskloof in the Cape. Oysters were small but tasty. We stayed at the Luderitz Nest for 4 nights and, just as another reviewer, planned to eat out in the evenings. Problem is that after we had a meal at the Penguin, we did not want to go anywhere else.The oysters were always fresh and delicious and my mussels in wine sauce were to die for!!Luderitz is quiet a windy town to say the least, so not having to go out in search of food in the evenings was a relief, specially as the food, the service, the ambience, the choice of music and the view were perfect at our hotel restaurant.Dear Guest/Patron, Thank you very much for posting your positive 5/5 feedback on your dining experiences at our PENGUIN RESTAURANT. I phoned and made a booking ahead of our visit. Upon arriving they had no record of the booking. It appeared to be a big problem. The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived. There was a reservation sign on tables but told it wasnât ours. We had oysters which were ok, could have been fresher and kingklip which was average. A large group of about 15 people were seated next to us making the noise level too loud to talk. When we left the other side of the restaurant was still not full and those same tables still had their reservation stands on them.Thank you very much for your comment.Usually an empty restaurant should not have much trouble to accommodating some customers. It turns out that some reservations are made over the phone by people of various nationalities and the names are not spelled correctly but surely the reservation was made. However, I don't think you have waited to have your table and were accommodated promptly. Our oysters are delivered daily straight from our bay here in Luderitz and surely they could be 2 hours fresher.About our happy group of customers who were sitting at the table next to you, it would be impolite of me to cut off the joy with which they were enjoying our food and their conviviality.We are always pleased to welcome you anytime.
