We have been to the SAndbar many times and it never fails to live up to the expectations. Great atmosphere, every year they seem to improve the restaurant, the food is of high standard and the service is great. They have a man who reads minds before you even think of it !!The value is also great - Massive Cocktails for $10, Sinners Delight dessert for $6 - you cannot moan at these quality plates. We drove from Clearwater approx 1.5 hours to get the crab cakes. When we arrived and looked at the menu - no crab cakes. Because they had trouble with the quality of crab we were told they changed to grouper cakes. So I ordered this. It was OK, and similar in crab cakes in how they were made, but I was really wishing for crab cakes. The location is close to the water, and there was a nice breeze the night we were there. My only suggestion to the owners would be to update their online menu, so guests know what is actually available.

We live on the island and where told, that the owners have changed and that the food is much better now. Well, I'm not sure what their taste butts are like, but for ours the food was way below par. The bread was dry, the crawfish paste had the taste of a hell of a lot of nothing. Guess, that why it weren't a lot of patrons there.We are so sorry to hear of your disappointment. If you would allow me to make it up to you. Ask for me personally on your next visit and I will make sure you have an enjoyable dining experience. Scott

The UG always looks busy when we drive past so we decided to eat there last week. The restaurant is laid back and the staff are excellent. We had Grouper Nuggets and the Grouper Tacos both were well worth the hype.Beer was good and the overall price average for a lunchtime meal. It was setup for bored kids and certainly had a unique view of itself being media friendly. The bar also had some sports showing TVs. Definate return planned for next vacation.

Besides the A/C being out it was a good experience. Anything fried they put garlic on is amazing (chips, fries, etc). Black grouper was really good (tacos and filet version). Most tables are smaller so itâs hard to fit a large family. The one big room is the one with current A/C issues.

We ate here last night, food and service very good, excellent value. My husband and I shared the conch and shrimp 2 ways and then had the steak Oscar and Cowboy steak, both cooked well . We shared the keylime pie and with a bottle of wine and service it was $120. Atmosphere and service good and we were not rushed at all

I had the lobster Mac and cheese, was loaded with lobster and delicious and creamy. My husband got the swordfish special and it made me a little jealous! The lobster Mac and cheese is awesome but the swordfish was just cooked so perfectly! Friendly service and reasonable prices!

Four of us celebrated wedding anniversaries with a delightful dinner at this intimate, comfortably crowded restaurant where you feel like youâre in your favorite Italian friendâs dining room. The staff is alert, knowledgeable and friendly. The food is beyond compare. Having been spoiled by chain âItalianâ restaurants, this place is a breath of fresh air. Fresh, house-made pasta; veal and chicken however you wish and a unique dessert, Chocolate Salami. The dessert is worth the trip.
