This a beautiful spot close to Lake Erie with lovely water viewing while drinking cocktails/wine on the upstairs outside deck. Ideal spot except for wires making it a somewhat obstructed view. Too bad food isn’t served up there because not only lovely but quiet. Downstairs in the main eating area it’s a bit noisy and although windows with seats next to them, the view wasn’t quite the same, especially since they kept moving the shades to protect those who didn’t want the sun in their eyes, despite offering sunglasses for those patrons. We just wore our sunglasses because how often is that view available on a sunny Buffalo evening? The food was good, the seafood very fresh and tasty, sauces good, but the biggest drawback to this place is that the pasta is made elsewhere, and definitely stale compared to fresh house made pasta and risotto. And you really notice the flavorless stale pasta That really disappointed the four of us especially since early that week and the following night we ate fresh house-made pasta in two different terrific Buffalo restaurants. We also ordered the huge bruschetta plate and we did eat that all down. Pricy but decent.

Hardworking group making a go of the restaurant business. Cod not my choice of fish but it was a huge piece of fish for the Friday Fish Fry. Comment at our table the Lunker was "amazing'. One person in our party who we know is all about impression verse taste commented on the Clam Chowder saying it was "amazing"..too soupy for myself and others like ours New England thick and lots of clam chowder this soup was neither. Service was OUTSTANDING, from the time we entered to the time we left. I do hope this place makes it they definitely have the right idea. Upgrade your fish, charge a dollar more but at least try it. The most important thing you can do to keep customers coming my back..CLEAN THOSE BATHROOM AND PUT PAPER TOWELS IN BOTH BATHROOMS. They were disgusting..Give this place a try, if the bathrooms are filthy like they were when we were there I would leave. Bathrooms tell you a lot about cleanliness and some say "how clean the kitchen is"...yikes!!!

This place is a moderately priced, family friendly restaurant with really good food. I have not yet found a better place for seafood, especially their sea food. Their fish fry is delicate and flaky, cooked perfectly: moist and NOT dry. They serve American comfort food and they do it very well The interior is a jumble of garage sale memorabilia but the staff is friendly and efficient. Salads are fresh and satisfying. There are three rooms: enter the bar with a sexting area; and two back rooms with a homey atmosphere. Soups are excellent. We eat here often since it is close by and the food can't be beat at these prices. Great job! See you soon!

"Lunch with the girls", was a real treat at Hoak's! Always love a meal near the water and this proved to be excellent. I chose the large Roast Beef sandwich, which was very tender and served with fries, Cole slaw or potato salad. Yum. Their Deep fried Buffalo Chicken sandwich is HUGE !! It was also served with a choice of a side. I'll definitely go back to try that one. Their Fish fries are also great. If your looking for a casual place on the lake with good food be sure to try Hoak's.
