We have stayed here twice before and this year we returned just for dinner because of the chef Rino that we liked so much. Perhaps because we were off season, there was no written menu (oral only) We tried and tried to make it clear that we did not want an antipasto with shellfish or crustaceans. Were assured that their seafood did not have any of these and then we got a plate of seafood most of which we could not eat. We were only allowed to order a bottle of wine instead of a carafe. It ended up being one of the most expensive meals of the trip and one of the least enjoyed.I repeat, however, that having stayied here twice before, dining was one of the best parts!!

When we first drove down to Marina di Novaglie, we were captured by the light, the rocks and the sea. There are only 2 places to eat at the Marina; we walked down the steps closer to the bay and found Lo Scalo where we had coffee. After looking at the Christmas lunch set menu, we made the reservation. Christmas Day was a shining sunny day; our table near the window had lots of light and the welcome from Cesare made us feel very comfortable. The dishes served were all very good; once we had to warn Cesare to slow down so that we could enjoy our lunch and not feel too heavy. During the breaks we looked at the numerous photos of movie and music celebrities who visited this place through the years. Having been previously In some Caribbean island, at the Seychelles, in Acapulco and in Australia it is not difficult to imagine why this place is so magic. Perhaps the low season had a part in the owner choice of the average wine and the insignificant seafood salad amongst the starters but on their side has to be mentioned the kindness to substitute some dishes due to one of us having a shellfish allergy.

My family and I visited Masseria Galatea for our Easter Monday lunch and we enjoyed a fantastic menu made out of local and fresh food produced directly by the owners. It was a fixed menu. The starters were abundant, we had a mixed of small portions of local dishes like roasted peppers, fava bean pure, aubergine parmigiana, local potato croquettes and potato pitta. Our first main was home made pasta with mixed vegetables and our second main was poultry cooked with herbs and bacon or a meat stew.Everything ended with puff pastry covered with cream and strawberries! Simply delicious!! I highly recommend this place if you are in the area. Staff and owners were professional and very friendly!

We ventured into this pretty little village one evening after reading the reviews of this sweet little restaurant. Being out of season, we were the only four diners, so a little apprehensive, but any fears were quickly forgotten. We shared some mixed seafood platter and some brochetta, quickly served along with some lovely local wine, we then followed on with various pasta dishes, all of which were very tasty. But the real joy was the service, which was friendly, efficient, and helpful, but as the only four people........ What we would have expected. Very small so would need to book for sure when in season.

We expected a lot given the looks of the place. However the food is mediocre. We got kind of sushi as a starter which was average, and just was the pasta especially given the price.

We visited Maggazino N.4 twice now, both time taking visitors. The style and quality of the restaurant is so unexpected in the small town of Morciano. Almost Morciano meets Manhattan! Everything we have eaten has been excellent - the antipasti, the primi and secondi. We are yet to try dolce, but they do look amazing. And the service is excellent, very friendly and professional. Plus excellent value for money. We will be back soon.

The restaurant of delicacies the culinary tradition of salento seems designed to satisfy the most varied tastes at all times of the year, in different seasons, to cheer every situation. Ristorante pub con cucina tipica salentina . Ampia scelta di vini del
We ate there one evening, we took some fried calamari, burrata with jam, straccetti di manzo. The stracetti were very good the fried calamari very salty and not fresh, the burrata average. The big minus for me was the smell from the kitchen very present in the restaurant, practically all our clothes were smelling like fried oil when we left.

We were very warmly greeted when we arrived. We sat outside in the piazza and enjoyed excellent service and hospitality from the waiters. The food was simple, fresh and well prepared. They brought out some delicious olive oil and salt for our bread. We shared a good grilled octopus on white bean purée and had two delicious pastas - spaghetti vongole and calamarata integrale (whole meal pasta with zucchini, squid, prawns and mussels). A small menu of interesting dishes.

Last friday(30.09.16) we enjoyed having lunch at the Risorante Re Sole. The restauant is beautiful and has a lovely terrace with surrounding garden. When driving from Leuca to Gagliano del Capo it is located on the right hand side, there is a signpost. We were the only guests, as it is off-season. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed and we very much enjoyed the entertaining conversation with Luigi, the owner. The food was extremely delicious. It was perfection based on the best local produce, cooked with passion and skill. Everything homemade. We can imagine how big the efforts are as we too are passionate cooks at home. Service was very good, very friendly and attentive.A great thank you to our host Luigi and to his son for a wonderful and memorable lunch!Grazie mille e arrivederci!

Terrazza sul mare cristallino del SALENTO. Cucina mediterranea con proposte sia di pesce che di carne!
Lovely homemade pasta dish with fresh shellfish, it was the only choice, one dish for all as it was not yet high season.Homemade olives and his own wine.We don't speak Italian, and he didn't speak much English, but we were served and understood very well, and the food was delicious.
