Very friendly service, and great views of the bay. The entree choices change frequently. We had the steak and the catch of the day. Both were well prepared and delicious. No complaints, and we would definitely eat here again. Thank you for mentioning the friendly service and great views. We stopped here on a Sunday for lunch. This is a small family owned restaurant. The food is cooked to order. My husband ordered the shrimp po-boy and I had the crab claw platter. I'm not a shrimp po-boy fan, but this one is VERY tasty! It is messy! But I have a dear friend that says "if it's not messy, it's not good!". So get EXTRA napkins!!! You get 12 crab claws and 3 sides for $7.99. The crab claws were seasoned well and cooked perfect. My sides were fries, fried okra, and hush puppies. The okra was hand battered and seasoned. It wasn't as crispy as I would like, but I'll ask for it extra crispy next time. The hush puppies are homemade also. They are a little spicy and not sweet. They have bottled drinks. Their sweet tea and lemonade are 32 oz and cost $2. I didn't care for the flavor of the tea. It seemed weak and too sweet. The prices are GREAT!!! We will be back!

Each person at our table ordered something different, and each of us was delighted with our choice. Highly recommend the shrimp and grits. My table mates were equally enthusiastic about their salads, sandwiches, crab cakes and soups. Basically you canât go wrong,regardless of what you order! Though vitally important, the food is just one aspect of what makes Tamaraâs so special. Prompt, attentive service and fabulous decor round out the experience. Everything looked good on the menu so it was very difficult to decide but the veal piccata was amazing. The bread was light and the salad was much better than other "Italian" restaurants ;-) The best part was our server, Tammy, she was very attentive and personable. The setting is lovely, but after reading so many lovely reviews, our expectations were high - and, as a result, we were disappointed. The service was average - and the food, though acceptable, was overpriced.

While staying with friends we went to the Southwood Kitchen for dinner. The staff was very friendly and we were immediately seated in an alcove which was a very relaxed environment. My husband and I love oysters so we ordered a dozen and were not disappointed. They were fresh and delicious! Our entreeâs consisted of roasted rabbit which my husband absolutely loved and diver scallops which were prefect.y prepared and succulent. The two other entrees were shrimp and grits and scamp which our friends thoroughly enjoyed. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful with ordering. It was a wonderful evening and we look forward to returning whenever we are in the area.

This is a great restaurant. Wide menu selection. Gumbo is house specialty. Served in a form bowl. Side Bread was really good. You have to order it. Seafood Trio is 19$ and worth it. Plenty to eat. Did not eat dessert. We read about this location on Trip Advisor. It is a family restaurant and it was packed Friday night 6-9. Mostly locals. 5-6 miles off I-10. The food is superior and service is really good. It is worth the time. We will return. Building Is plain. No flashing lights. Second location in Mobile.Wow thank you for the high praise. We love seeing when someone has a wonderful experience . thank you again and look forward to seeing you. Happy Eating Zack
