Candolim is just north of the Mandovi river and is home to Goa's most popular and well known resort and holiday village. As such, it's not a typical backpackers destination. The Candolim beach itself does not have much to offer when compared to its livelier neighbor, Calangute. However, if sunbathing and take the occasional dip is your thing then Candolim will offer you the perfect experience. One of the more interesting sights from Candolim beach is the bulk carrier ""River Princess"" which ran aground 100 metres offshore. While at the Candolim beach do not miss out the Aguada Fort. The fort was built by the Portuguese way back in 1912 for defense against the Dutch and the Maratha invaders. Candolim is aslo a very popular evening destination as it has a number of very good resteraunts and night clubs.

I canât find anything negative to say about Tonyâs Shack. We have only been in Goa for three days and we have dined in Tonyâs twice already and have had great meals both times. Tony the owner is also very helpful and a pleasure to talk to.

We dined at this place cz we reached SinQ earlier. However, 2 of us were satisfied with what we had ordered but the others found the food stale and not tasteful. The two of us had ordered Chinese and it was tasteful. The wine options are barely anything. The service is okay. The ambiance is done up well.Hi, thank you for taking the time to review us. Soi is an authentic Goan restaurant and so we only serve Goan cuisine. We apologize as we didn't meet some of your expectations. We would recommend you to try out our thalis or seafood options and look forward to serving you once again.

We visited the lazy goose on a lazy saturday afternoon with two hungry kids only to realize they had an hour long waiting and we were without a reservation.Rather then turn us away, they went out of their way to accomodate us, "with little kids we wont let you them go away hungry" and that sums up the warmth and character of a place.The live music set the mood and the food captured it, guess these are the things that keep them busy, but its their human touch that makes them coveted.Thanks guys! You were fantastic

Great night here on a wednesday , great music , dance night, advisable to book as it is very busy , food was ok, as were the drinks , everyone had a great night , at one point there was some half wit danceing whilst cuddling a dog , what a sherbet, but a great night , will be back for sure

Loved everything about this place. Great decor. Staff were friendly and quick (but not rushed). Everything was perfect. Reasonably priced. Food was unbelievable. Asked for a Baileys after our meal but they were out of stock. Without asking we got a coffee liqueur, alternative, on the house

We recently visited the Mermaid after seeing the reviews in Trip Advisor. We were greeted by the owner who made us feel very welcome. The restaurant was nicely laid out. We ordered the surf and turf, the steak was beautifully cooked, the accompaniments were great and overall the food was excellent. The owner came over to chat about the history of the restaurant and could not be more friendly. A lovely evening with great good.

We came to Alex shack after hearing all the wonderful reviews. We can not understand why possibly just loyal customers who have not tried else where . The food was terrible the worst we had in any shack, atmosphere lacking with no welcome although the regulars were being attended to . The shack itself is very plain nothing pretty about it to make you want to go either. Was disappointed after the hype we had heard and a few other couples we met in candolim also said same that they had visited and wouldnât return this year . Was a shame. Joanneg184Thank you for your review. However I'm astounded at how you can so easily criticize anything especially opinions of my valuable customers who have come and enjoyed themselves at my shack. They came with no expectations and loved it. And far as the kheema masala and Naan is concerned... I can understand that maybe it wasn't as per your expectations but what I can't understand is when rocky asked you how your meal was, you said that the portions were big. At that time you could have easily said that you didn't like it. My guess is that if you had told us the truth then, you wouldn't have been able to complain about it in your review. You are perfectly entitled to your opinions and to voice them. However I feel that it's not in good taste to generalise about opinions of others regarding my shack. Whether a customer is new or a regular, we always look after them well. It really is a shame that you visited my shack to judge rather than enjoy. All I aim to do is help my customers enjoy their long awaited holiday to the best of my ability... nothing more than that and nothing less.

The banyan tree restaurant was a beautiful experience in itself but SANDIP provided excellent services and added to the charm of the evening. He suggested all specialties and I loved the food and drinks. I was travelling to Goa to celebrate my birthday and decided to treat myself at this amazing Thai restaurant in north Goa for my birthday dinner. To my surprise when Sandip discovered that its my birthday, they celebrated it so beautifully that I will never forget it. AMAZING staff, beautiful live music, great food. This place was all I needed on my birthday.

12 trips to this shack and it never disappoints us. Lovely shack boys. Food is awesome. Dennis is a proper gent who always makes a point of greeting everyone in person. Will arrange airport and any trip at good prices. Highly recommend this one.
