A bar-cum-restaurant in an old Ford showroom (c. 1923) wedged between the former home of Hobartâs Mercury newspaper and a car park. Our menu changes daily and focuses on locally sourced produce â some of which we forage for ourselves. Our kitchenâs smack-
Notwithstanding some of the bad reviews we've read on here, if you're looking for a modern and innovative restaurant using local produce and skilled techniques - and you want a taste of why Hobart and Tasmania more generally is a culinary destination - look no further than Franklin. We found the dishes we had to be varied, but all expertly prepared. We found the service to be friendly, knowledgeable and engaging. And we found the atmosphere in the restaurant to be relaxed and comfortable. A highlight of our trip.

Jill & George Mure opened Tasmania's first licensed seafood restaurant, Mures Fish House, in 1973 in Hobart. When they struggled to source quality, fresh, local seafood, George went fishing. More than 40 years on, now owned by Will & Jude Mure, Mures rema
The lower deck was crowded, so we decided to do the upper deck which was full service vs cafeteria style. All of the dishes we ordered at our table were delicious. The blue eyed truvella appears to be the localâs favorite. Having sampled the other fish entrees, I would have to agree. Nevertheless, everything we ate was fresh, and the service was prompt and friendly.Dear floridatraveler33, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback from your recent visit to Upper Deck, we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed both our dishes and our service. The Blue Eye Trevalla is line-caught on our own fishing vessel, Diana, and is definitely a local hero among fish species. We are glad that you found this to be the case as well. It's a wonderfully versatile fish that is suited for nearly all styles of cooking!Kind regards,Mures Upper Deck

After over 25 years welcoming guests from all over the world we are proud of our passion and respect for the food and service we provide to our customers. We are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days (except Christmas day). In 2003, the original Cus
A good choice for a drink, a meal or a bed in a great location for Salamanca Market, Battery Point meanderings. Galleries galore, cafes, and bars. We visited after an exhibition for a meal. We chose the scallop special as it is the season now. I chose the curried version which was a little overpowering for such a delicate fish and I love my own better. However my husband had crumbed and was very happy. Both were presented beautifully and great value with accompanying soup, and a glass of wine.

One of Hobart's iconic restaurants and is popular with both locals and visitors to Hobart alike. We are a family run restaurant and we have been operating since 1979 offering the diner a truly unique experience and very fresh and tasty Tassie seafood and
Fun Atmosphere, Great Staff, Excellent Wines and Solid Food. Ate there for dinner twice. Local spirits and wines- best selection we've seen. Our server Rachel was outstanding, accommodating some unusual needs we had seamlessly. Excellent food and portions that weren't insanely large. Highly recommended

The food is good but there are far better less pretentious options in Hobart. The staff were average and stood around our table chatting to each other the whole night. Restaurant was empty however we still had to sit in the table next to the exit. Don't bother with this place even if you are staying in the hotel above.Dear Hugh V,Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback following your recent visit to Old Wharf Restaurant. While I'm pleased that you enjoyed our food offering, I am naturally very disappointed to read that the service that you received was well below our own very high expectations of ourselves. We intend to provide warm, efficient and engaging service at all times and, on behalf of our team, I am very sorry that this was not your experience when you visited. I hope that we might have the opportunity to welcome you back for a much better experience and invite you to contact me directly at [email protected] should you look to return. Many thanks and kind regards,Emma DevlinFood & Beverage Manager

Pearl + CO - Oyster Bar on the Hobart waterfront (in the Mures complex). Freshly shucked oysters, fresh seafood and appetising bar food inspired by Tasmania's beautiful produce. Located right on the waters edge and perfect to enjoy a classic cocktail, spe
We had lunch sitting inside at Pearl & Co. where there are good views of the ships and people passing. We felt we were really lucky to get a seat We had battered Gummy Shark (fresh and tender) and polenta chips. For dessert we had lemongrass creme brule which we loved because we could taste the lemongrass. Service was helpful, timely, and friendly. Pearl & Co. provide a great value for good seafood on the waterfront.Dear Staidthere, It is our absolute pleasure to have been able to provide you with a memorable experience of our local seafood! The Tasmanian Gummy Shark on our menu is often unloaded straight from the boats in Victoria dock, directly in front of our restaurant. We have passed your compliments along to our staff, who were thrilled to receive your feedback. Please do come and visit us again, the weather is only going to get more pleasant from here on out! Many thanks,Pearl + CO

Blue Eye is a quality seafood restaurant on Hobart's waterfront, cooking fresh and tasty local fish and seafood. It has a modern menu specialising in grilled fish dishes, seafood platters, and fish and chips.Try some local Bruny Island oysters or Spring B
The Blue Eye came highly recommended to us, so we made it our first dinner stop in Hobart. It could have been much better. Our server did not have any knowledge of the wine list and limited knowledge of the menu. From the time we ordered, it took 45 minutes to get our meal--very disappointing.I had the blue eye, which was slightly overcooked, while the roasted potatoes that came with it were undercooked. My wife had paella--plenty of good seafood, but the rice was overcooked and mushy. The food was so mediocre that we passed on dessert.
