Donetsk (Ukrainian: Донецьк [dɔˈnɛtsʲk]; Russian: Доне́цк [dɐˈnʲɛtsk]; former names: Aleksandrovka, Hughesovka, Yuzovka, Stalino (see also: cities' alternative names)) is an industrial city in Ukraine on the Kalmius River. The population was estimated at 929,063 (2016 est.) in the city, and over 2,000,000 in the metropolitan area (2011). According to the 2001 Ukrainian Census, Donetsk was the fifth-largest city in Ukraine. Since April 2014, the city has been controlled by pro-Russian separatists from the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic.

This is a restaurant (no matter the fact that it's called club-bar) with a a central location, a very unique atmosphere and name (the word "svinia" in Russian means "pig") as well as a program including some tricks with a pig that is presented as the director of the venue under the name of Modest Ivanovich. The interior is unique since you can write everywhere (on table or walls) whatever you want, there is toilet paper on the table instead of napkins, but this somehow contributes to the different atmosphere of the venue and makes it popular among the guests of the city and the local population. The dishes they offer are quite delicious (I strongly recommend the so-called pork dinner (svinskiy uzhin) and the superb draught Blanche beer) , the service is good, the program with the pig is also interesting, but beware though that the pig tries to bite you if you want to touch it since it is kept on a diet (at least this is what we have been told. For a dinner for 3 people with some vodka and several beers we paid less than 100 EUR. You can pay in cash or by credit card, the venue doesn't have a parking, but there is plenty of space to park your car on a nearby street.

They said they still openeded after some time because of war. The ordered like-shreddered-chicken with mashed potatoes was good. It tooked some time to get the beer. Dessert (strudel) was good to. The waiters are very friendly. You can also pay with Russian Rubles.

We went for a dinner to this restaurant.The ambience is very nice, but the rest was notIt took forever for the waiter to come to us. Then it took eternity for him to bring our order.I ordered a steak, medium rare, instead he brought me a steak that was well done, super dry and too much pepper on it. Instead of acknowledging his mistake or chefâs mistake, he was arguing and didnât not change the steak for medium rare.So the evening was ruined :(
