Doesn’t take long from wherever you are in town to walk to Aussie bar. The staff were pleasant and food was delivered quick. After looking at reviews I ordered the chicken parmigiana (39,000) and it didn’t disappoint! It was huge! And very tasty. My partner had a burger (30,000 or so) which he was a little disappointed with, only because he loves a burger but we are from England and they do burgers differently from Australia (we travelled there for a few months so knows his Aussie burgers!) Althogether we had two meals and three drinks (non alcoholic) and our bill was less than 100,000. Very happy and free WiFi too.

This place is decent if you’re looking for nice food, but if you’re looking to get happy I wouldn’t bother. It’s crazy expensive, $13 US dollars for one shroom shake which did absolutely nothing. Same goes for the other bars selling them.

We visited this restaurant three times in a week as a group of four. Being new to the country we didn’t know what food to choose so each time we asked the servers to choose. We weren’t disappointed, we received a Pork Laap. It was spicy and herby, unlike anything I had tried before and absolutely delicious. We also had Pad Kee Mao which had a unique spiciness and flavour to it. We had some of the beat fried pork dumplings I had ever had. The dough for the casing of the dumpling was sweet, almost doughnut like. It may not sound too good but the combination of flavours with the stuffing and dipping sauce was out of this world. The prices are very cheap and portion sizes are good. They were the best prices we had seen around town. They also seem to have a well stocked bar, we didn’t drink so I can’t really comment more on this. The decor is interesting with lots of fairy lights and art on the walls. The service was great and the place was clean. It was quiet every time we ate in here but don’t let that put you off. As testament to how good this restaurant is I created the tripadvisor page for them, so that other people can experience their amazing Lao food.

Jaidee Bar

Great daytime restaurant and an awesome nighttime bar/pub. Should be in the nightlife section. Special menu

I have enjoyed many nights in this bar run by a cool cat named Jai Dee. Music is good and one will likely meet some interesting people there. It also tends to stay open an hour or more longer than Sakura or Gary's.
