Went here with a group of friends for a live music night.Foxtrots was great & had a lovely voice singing lots of her own work.We werenât sure if the food would only be of the snack variety but the menu was a great choice of pub grub. The staff were great & service efficient & friendly.Will definitely return

Had 3 different pints from the bar and sat outside in the glorious sunshine. The barmaid was very chirpy and helpful with our selection. What was fascinating outside was the number of people running about in fancy dress - tennis players; French people; wrestlers; transvestites - I think they were on a treasure hunt! Anyway it was amusing.

We continue to return to what we refer to as "our local". Over the past months we have enjoyed lunches and dinners, as a couple and with friends. The service is always friendly, helpful and the drinks are always delivered quickly. The food is well presented, tasty and don't think we have ever had a bad dish. We will continue to return and appreciate the fact that specials are added to the normal menu, leading to variety. The meals are also well priced and plenty of options on the menu.

Came here as recommended by the brother in law and definitely impressed. Love me some chilli and beer and this place does not disappoint!A nice ambience with beer brewing in the rear, indoor and outdoor seating and what looks to be a separate private area for functions. I had the pork buns and curly fries with my mermaids mirth beer (quite sensational) and could have had 2 or 3 more helpings of different things. Only thing I would say is it doesnât appear they have many staff to service the very busy times, so expect a bit of a wait in line when ordering (no table service).I will be back!

If your on a cruise or visiting and want a great lunch then you cannot go past this place for lunch. It is very clean and the staff so friendly and helpful. The meal was so good and we would not hesitate to go back. Tried a NZ beer with our seafood lunch and it was very nice as well. Highly Recommend.Woo! A special celebratory lunchtime treat turned into utter disappointment sadly. We all ordered Market Fish @ $36 which was supposed to be pan fried with a creamy sauce. What we received was wet fish in a spicy broth, with gnocchi and a few scallops. Definitely not up to the standard expected or previously enjoyed at this restaurant/bar.Change of chef perhaps, but we all agreed that our meals were below par and certainly not as the menu suggested.

We loved the old Hop House in Mt Maunganui. The new one in a beautiful old building in Wharf Street Tauranga CBD is even better. Cool decor, great selection of craft beers, top notch food and excellent service. Donât miss steak night on Wednesday or the $15 Sunday roast. This place is up there with the very best craft beer pubs we have been in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Drinks and meal with friends here last week - place ideally located on the Strand , Tauranga - good place for after work drinks and a meal . Good range of locally brewed and international beers and on tap. Good wine list again local and international. We ate main meals here - good service - good proportioned meals and food cooked well. - No complaints there - good selection of choices , tapas,platters,entrees'mains & desserts. Even something for the GF's & vegans. Arrived here mid week for lunch, without reservations, and found service and food consistently good. I had chicken sandwich/burger and partner had a brisket burger that was currently on special. Food was good, didnât have to wait too long and service was good. Menu has good choices and we find it well worth trying for lunch or dinner. Will be returning!
