I keep wanting to like this place but it's not happening. Two of us for dinner, their baked gator dish appetizer and her usual crab cake. The gator thing was delicious but super cheesey. A zillion calories according to this morning's scale but the meat itself was tasty and tender. I should have opted for the plain gator bites. Today's gripe ... long handled broom and dustpan leaning against a clean table. My thinking was that the waitstaff was trying to get a jump on closing. It was 8:30 and I don't particularly want the clean up crew around while I am eating. Sure enough, as we (and other diners) were still eating, one of the waitresses starts sweeping the floor. What is it about Jaxson's management that they don't understand logic? That they can't re-take Restaurant 101? That they can't understand cleanliness is CRITICAL to a successful restaurant? Am I being unreasonable because I don't want a dead frog as a table guest? That I don't want the cleaning crew to disrupt my dinner? That I want clean restrooms? We are not beer, burger, and burp diners; we eat out a lot and like variety; good food, good service, fair prices. Here's a generous tip if you do things right. If the food is good and the place is clean, we'll be back. There are good people who frequent Jaxson's; they like cold beer, occasional live entertainment, TV sporting events, and an active bar scene. Jaxson's is a great place for this kind of outing.

We live in the area, so we've got our favorites from the menu and generally stick with them.. Burgers are great, as is the Dock Onion and the Fish and Chips! Whenever possible we prefer to sit outside if we want to have any conversation at all. Any kind of a crowd inside, and talking is almost impossible! If they would do something about the noise I would give them 5 stars!
We were greeted and immediately seated by a hostess. Our waitress Linda arrived promptly to introduce herself and take our drink order. She was back quickly with our drinks and took our order. She answered our questions cheerfully and recommended the fall off the bone baby back ribs for me. After taking our order Linda returned promptly with our salads. She returned soon after we started our salads to see if everything was ok and if we needed more salad dressing. Within several minutes of finishing our salads Linda arrived with our dinners which looked delicous. Linda checked on us at least 3 times during our meal to se if everyting was to our liking and if we needed anything else. The baby back ribs were fall of the bone delicous just as advertised and the fries and vegitables were also excellent. My wife's grilled chicken was also excellent. The food was very good and plentiful, the prices were very reasonable and the service provided by Linda was excellent. The restaurant management was quite visible and they appeared to have plenty of well trained staff. Their menu seemed to have something for everyone. The only negative about our dining experience was that the noise level was fairly high. The addition of some booths along with some window coverings and some other sound dampening items would reduce the noise level resulting in a more favorable dining experience. Overall were really enjoyed our dining experience and will be returning soon. My wife and I believe you will enjoy dinning at Tabby's.
