Terrific new Canal Winchester location of the Barrel & Boar BBQ GastroPub. Been open only about a week - sine July 2, 2019.The restaurant was VERY busy on a Wednesday eve with a wait of approx. 40 minutes (which was about correct). They have outdoor seating which would have provided more tables for guests, but they didn't have enough servers for outside. So maybe still working some kinks out. Nice selection of craft beers on top, as well as other bottled ones. Also very good selection of wine - and a full bar too.We had a Burnt Ends appetizer to start. Nice portion size, I think there were about 8-10 pieces served with a spicier sauce than their regular sauces. For dinner we shared the Ohio BBQ Sampler with Brisket, Smoked Turkey and Smoked Chicken (they were out of pulled pork by 7 pm - keep that in mind). We chose sides of macaroni & cheese and cole slaw. The mac & cheese is a very flavorful dish, and seemed made with a couple of different delicious cheeses. We enjoyed it very much but heard from another patron there that they weren't in love with it (it's not like "regular" American mac & cheese in that it probably doesn't have american or velveeta cheese in it.) The cole slaw was a nice blend of creamy & vinegar-type recipes together which is a nice touch. Garlic toast was tasty and mix of peppers, onions & spicy pickles on side were a great flavor enhancer!Also, we shared the app & dinner and had plenty for both of us, and even left with a small box to take home. Good sized portions!We did really like that they bring a carafe of ice water to the table in the beginning! Nice simple touch!Service was great from Olivia and all the food was super. Only wish the wait had been a bit shorter, but it was a nice evening so we relaxed a bit on the patio with drinks while waiting. I'm sure wait times will improve as they get kinks worked out.Highly recommend!

Seemed to be very popular with the locals and regulars! But still we had good service and drinks. Definitely a party bar on certain nights and weekends!

Husband called in order. I picked up. When I walked in (1st time customer) no one greeted me. Finally after standing at the counter for awhile someone came out. We ordered two pizzas. One reg. One white. Add bacon. The white pizza had regular sauce and no bacon. When I told the girl she said sorry can make you another. But offered no discount for the wrong order. Pizza was decent. But service was so bad we wont be back

Great value, good food choices - the wings are amazing and lot's of choice given. Food quality and quantity are top, and there is a good chance you will get to take a way some of your dinner in a box after finishing! Service is good - but not great. Feels a little perfunctory but is still pretty good. Well worth a visit.

BEER:I tried 5 of their beers, all were great especially the dark beers. FOOD:So, there ARE food trucks there on weekends, which varies as to which truck they invite, that is cool so you get a variety. LOVE the Schmidt's truck!!!STAFF:All were extremely kind and courteous, explained things well if you asked and took excellent care of their customers.Brewery:Small but efficient and they produce some excellent beers from IPAs to coffee porters.Entertainment:There are musicians present on weekends to entertain you from blues to bluegrass to acoustic rock, which I personally prefer.Others:They do offer soft drinks, not name brands, and water for non beer drinkers.Also there is a patio out front to sit with nice fire pits and enjoy their wares.

Had never been here before. My husband had but it had been awhile so he couldnât remember what it was comparable to so I took a chance! We were seated promptly and the server was friendly and efficient. The breadsticks we had for appetizer were really good! The pizza is a thin, crispy crust; sauce a tad spicy but not hot, toppings are plentiful and the beer is cold and all is reasonably priced! They state theyâre award winning and although I was pleased with everything and will definitely return, I wouldnât rate this as award winning pizza. I have zero complaints though and I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. Thank you.

Bar atmosphere very busy at lunch. Find a table and seat yourself. We sat at the bar. Waitress was good very busy for her and slow on return visits. had a Ruban that was just OK. Fries could have need fresher. $12.00+ for the size of sandwich was a little much. Sauce was on the side which was weird.

We had read about this place but decided to give it a try for our anniversary. We arrived about 7:00 and were able to get right into our room after we received our welcome beer. Our room opened onto the sour brewing facility and the other sides window looked out over a lake. The roomâs theming was very well done. It was all beer but done very tastefully. We went down to the restaurant for dinner and it seemed to be a lot of Mexican inspired dishes. I had tacos but also had an amazing side of sweet corn. The weather the days we were there were beautiful and there were people sitting outside enjoying all the lawn games and activities they had such as corn hole and large Jenga. They also had a large fenced in dog park. We enjoyed playing table tennis. In the morning they provided a reasonable breakfast of beermosas, make your own yogurts and other items. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel and/or brewery and would like to return in the future.
