Birkenhead /ˌbɜːrkənˈhɛd/ is a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral in Merseyside, England. Historically in Cheshire, it is on the Wirral Peninsula, along the west bank of the River Mersey, opposite the city of Liverpool. The Birkenhead Urban Area defined as the contiguous built-up area along the eastern side of the Wirral had a total population of 325,264 in the 2011 Census. In the 2011 census, the Parliamentary constituency of Birkenhead had a population of 88,818. The Birkenhead and Tranmere electoral ward, covering a much smaller area, had a population of 15,879.

Booked in here before we went to see a Jersey Boys - lovely meal and very reasonable as we got 25% off bill for being theatre goers Andrew our waiter was fantastic, as we had limited time, he ensured our 2 courses were delivered promptly - fantastic service by a lovely waiter who also gave us tips n where to go for drinks after the show Would definitely recommendThank you for taking the time to give us such a fantastic review. Being fed up with the 'Greenking' takeover of pubs on the Wirral we wanted to go to an independent pub with decent home cooked food, so back to the Pilot we went. As always a warm welcome and great food. Well worth a visit.

Family lunch. Excellent experience. One vegetarian, one carnivore (!), one happy with either. Everyone left very happy!!!!Very friendly staff, especially the bar man, who asked about our day, plans for the day and gave a general feeling that he hoped we truly enjoyed our meal.Food was so so good, we all wanted to eat it all, but just not possible. Was a pleasant evening till a very loud group sat down next to us. To make it worse, when we ordered the chocolate fondant we were told it was finished for the day. Reason transpired the group next to us had pre-ordered this dessert. On balance, no reason to return till they improve on these issues.Thank you for taking the time to write a review.
